The proposed magnetic field sensor based on the birefringence of magnetic fluid filled in silica tube has a high linear response to magnetic field intensity with a sensitivity of 29.2 pm/Oe. It offers advantages such as ease of fabrication, simple structure, and low cost, making it suitable for applications in magnetic field measurement, optical fiber gyroscopes, and magneto-optic modulators.

1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The sensor is based on the birefringence of magnetic fluid filled into a hollow-core waveguide placed in a Sagnac loop. The birefringence characteristics were investigated under different magnetic fields.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Magnetic fluids with different concentrations were used. The transmission spectrum was measured under varying magnetic field intensities.

The transmission spectrum was analyzed to determine the sensitivity and resolution of the sensor to magnetic field intensity.
