The MoS2 QDs modified black Ti3+–TiO2/g-C3N4 hollow nanosphere heterojunction exhibits significant photocatalytic enhancement toward the photocatalytic HER, which is ≈33 folds higher than the normal TiO2. The MoS2 QDs, Ti3+/Ov self-doping, and nanosphere heterojunction are regarded as the main reasons for this enhancement. The hollow nanosphere photocatalyst also exhibits remarkable cycling stability in continuous photocatalysis.
