The developed all photonic radar system enables object detection and localization without any electrical LO or control signal, achieving a distance error of <1 cm and an average DoA angle error of ~3°. This performance can be further improved with dedicated radar signal post-processing.

The system's performance could be affected by the coherence bandwidth of the utilized antenna and the linear calibration method, which does not account for the changing slope of the sinusoidal optical frequency sweep over its period.
