研究目的
To study the optical design rule for microalgal cultivation systems to efficiently utilize solar energy and improve photosynthesis efficiency, and to propose a dual-energy generator combining microalgal cultivation with spectrally selective photovoltaic cells for maximizing solar energy conversion efficiency.
研究成果
The study concludes that understanding the solar spectrum allows the design of more efficient energy conversion systems. Despite the potential of luminescent materials, their use did not enhance biomass productivity under strong illumination. The proposed dual-energy generator, combining spectrally selective PVs and photosynthesis, achieved significant biomass productivity and electricity generation, demonstrating the feasibility of utilizing multiple bandgaps for solar energy conversion.
研究不足
The limitations include the intrinsic low optical efficiencies of luminescent materials under strong illumination, potential degradation of organic dyes by photooxidation, and the need for further optimization of PV materials for desired amounts of electricity and biofuel production.
