研究目的
Investigating the effect of wavelength detuning on the dynamic performance of distributed feedback lasers operating at O band and C band.
研究成果
Wavelength detuned DFB samples at O-band and C-band showed a higher sensitivity to the implemented detuning for O band samples. Characteristic temperature and maximum power showed notable increases depending on the relative positions of detuned wavelength to peak optical gain. Maximum resonance frequencies were measured at 25(cid:1)C and 85(cid:1)C corresponding consistently to blue-detuned DFB samples at less than 20 nm range from the device peak optical gain. O-band samples require further optimization for 10 Gbps data transmission at 85(cid:1)C, while C-band samples suffered from limited bandwidth at 85(cid:1)C.
研究不足
The study was limited to AlInGaAs ridge waveguide distributed feedback lasers operating at O band and C band. The dynamic sensitivity was higher for detuned samples with the shortest nominal design wavelengths, and C-band samples suffered from limited bandwidth at 85(cid:1)C.
