研究目的
The aim of this study was to utilize one practice’s laser treatment settings and outcomes data to identify complication rates for various energies and areas of the face and to offer safe energy/depth parameters for treating each area.
研究成果
The study confirmed the efficacy of Er:YAG resurfacing and provides guidance for a safer approach to excellent outcomes.
研究不足
The study had many limitations including the number of people in the study would ideally be larger, MicroLaserPeels in the study were performed by multiple aestheticians, outcomes were not stratified by age and skin type data were not recorded, and no Fitzpatrick skin types IV or higher were part of the study.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A retrospective chart review was performed for full-field confluent laser resurfacing patients treated with a Sciton Contour Tunable Resurfacing Er:YAG laser.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
The study included 232 patients, and a total of 797 procedures. Out of these, 472 procedures were deep laser resurfacing, whereas 325 were MicroLaserPeels.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Sciton Contour Tunable Resurfacing Er:YAG laser, Aquaphor petrolatum jelly, Zimmer Chiller.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Patients were screened at the preoperative consult, treated with the laser, and followed up postoperatively.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Data were tabulated in Excel, and relevant statistics were calculated.
