研究目的
To investigate the feasibility and outcomes of femtosecond laser-assisted anterior and posterior capsulotomies in children with persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous (PHPV) syndrome.
研究成果
The use of a low-energy femtosecond laser for anterior and posterior capsulotomies in pediatric patients with PHPV syndrome is feasible and provides safe, predictable results with reduced intraocular manipulations and complication risks.
研究不足
The study had limitations including non-precise measurement of the achieved capsulotomy, lack of a real comparison group, and varied follow-up regimens due to the age range of patients.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study involved performing anterior and posterior capsulotomies using a femtosecond laser in pediatric patients with PHPV syndrome. The surgical technique included setting specific laser parameters for capsulotomy diameter, laser power, resection height, and velocity.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Twelve pediatric patients (12 eyes) with congenital cataracts and PHPV syndrome were included. Preoperative examinations included biomicroscopy, ophthalmoscopy, keratometry, intraocular pressure measurement, A and B ultrasound scanning, ultrasound biomicroscopy, and electroretinography (ERG).
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
A mobile femtosecond laser system (FEMTO LDV Z8, Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems) was used for the capsulotomies. Other equipment included a Centurion Vision System (Alcon) for phacoaspiration and an ophthalmic viscosurgical device.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The procedure involved vacuum-docking the patient interface to the eye, setting laser parameters, performing the capsulotomies, and completing the surgery with phacoaspiration and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS software. The normality of data was assessed using the Shapiro-Wilks test, and differences were analyzed using paired-samples t test or Mann-Whitney U test.
