研究目的
Investigating the effects of TiO2 nanoparticles on the absorption properties of erbium-doped tellurite glasses for photonic applications.
研究成果
The incorporation of TiO2 NPs into erbium-doped tellurite glasses enhances the absorption intensity significantly due to the SPR mediated strong local electric field. This modification in optical properties is useful for the development of plasmonic nanoglass materials applicable for photonic devices.
研究不足
The study is limited to the effects of TiO2 NPs on the absorption properties of erbium-doped tellurite glasses. The mechanism of TiO2 NPs stimulated spectroscopic modification is not fully understood.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A series of Titania-Erbium doped Tellurite glass systems with varying TiO2 NPs concentrations were prepared using the melt-quenching method. The samples were characterized using UV-Vis-NIR and XRD measurements.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Analytical grade starting materials of TeO2, ZnO, Na2O, Er2O3, and TiO2 were used as glass constituents.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
PANalytical X’Pert PRO MRD PW3040 for XRD measurements, Shimadzu UVPC-3101 spectrophotometer for UV-Vis-NIR absorption spectra, and Analytical balance of specific density-Precisa XT 220A for density measurements.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The glass constituents were thoroughly grinded, melted in a platinum crucible at 900°C for 20 minutes, poured into a brass mould, annealed at 300°C for 3 hours, and then cooled to room temperature. The samples were cut and polished to a thickness of 2.5±0.5 mm for optical measurements.
5:5±5 mm for optical measurements.
Data Analysis Methods:
5. Data Analysis Methods: The optical absorption coefficient, optical energy band gap, Urbach energy, refractive index, and polarizability were calculated from the absorption data.
