研究目的
To apply the LIBS techniques as a fast and reliable tool to detect and quantify the trace amount of carcinogenic and allergenic metals (Pb, Cr, and Ni) mostly used in face foundation powders of various brands.
研究成果
A LIBS detection system was optimized and successfully employed to estimate the trace amount of different toxic carcinogen contaminants in the selected face foundation powders. The concentration of toxic metals like lead, nickel, and chromium were much higher than the safe permissible limits, which is a subject of serious concern particularly in local branded face foundation powder samples. The knowledge gained through the current work can be useful for the improvement of in situ LIBS system to analyze face foundation powder samples in the cosmetic shops as well as in face foundation powder manufacturing industries.
研究不足
The study focused on a limited number of samples (five brands) and specific heavy metals (Pb, Cr, Ni). The LIBS system's sensitivity and limit of detection were critical factors that could affect the accuracy of the results.
