A facile laser-induced process was developed to fabricate perovskite-2D nanoconjugates, where the density of nanocrystals on the flakes can be controlled by the number of irradiation pulses. This method provides a universal procedure to decorate 2D materials with metal halide nanocrystals, combining the exciting properties of perovskite nanocrystals with those of 2D materials.

The irradiation can damage perovskite crystals if the dose is not kept sufficiently low (<1000 pulses) to preserve their structure and morphology and eventually the luminescent properties.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A laser-assisted method was used for the fabrication of perovskite-2D nanoconjugates in colloids. The methodology involved irradiating a mixed solution of graphene oxide (GO) and metal-halide perovskite nanocrystals with femtosecond laser pulses at ambient conditions.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Metal halide perovskite nanocrystals were synthesized using a precipitation colloidal method and mixed with GO exfoliated in 1,2-dichlorobenzene (DCB).
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
The setup included an Yb:KGW ultrafast pulsed laser source, mirrors, a convex lens, and a quartz cuvette. Chemicals included PbBr2, CsBr, DMF, oleic acid, oleylamine, and toluene.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The mixed solution was irradiated with varying numbers of laser pulses to control the density of nanocrystals on the GO flakes. The process was monitored using TEM, XRD, UV-Vis absorption spectra, and photoluminescence measurements.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The structural features and optical properties of the nanoconjugates were analyzed using TEM, XRD, UV-Vis, and photoluminescence spectroscopy.
