研究目的
Investigating the enhancement of polar angle sensitivity in refractive index sensors using Bloch surface wave resonance excited by azimuthal illuminations.
研究成果
The study demonstrates that azimuthal illumination can significantly enhance the polar angle sensitivity of grating coupled Bloch surface wave resonance refractive index sensors. For any polar angle, there exists an azimuthal illumination case corresponding to a divergent polar angle sensitivity, enabling ultra-high sensitivity. The numerical simulations confirm the theoretical predictions, showing a sensitivity of up to 1786 Deg/RIU, which is significantly higher than previously reported values. This approach provides a compact and low-cost solution for high-sensitivity angle space refractive index sensors.
研究不足
The study is based on numerical simulations and theoretical predictions. The actual implementation may face challenges related to the fabrication of the sensor structure and the precise control of the azimuthal angle of illumination. Additionally, the sensitivity may be affected by environmental factors and the quality of the bio-solution layer.
