研究目的
To propose a simpler approach for transformer dissolved gas analysis (DGA) based on the normalized energy intensity (NEI), a quantity related directly to fault energy dissipated within the transformer, for evaluating apparent fault severity.
研究成果
The NEI DGA scoring method, based on hydrocarbon fault gas concentrations and enthalpies of formation, provides a numeric fault severity score directly related to the amount of fault energy expended in the oil. It is sensitive to each of the IEC transformer fault types and responds better to gradual increases in fault severity. The method requires only two or three NEI limits, making it simpler and more straightforward than conventional gas concentration scoring methods.
研究不足
The study focuses on mineral-oil-filled power transformers and does not address other types of transformers or insulating materials. The NEI method's sensitivity to fault types involving acetylene may require special measures for proactive response.
