研究目的
To compare degenerate one- and three-mode PS parametric multicasting in terms of stability, phase manipulation, gain, and conversion efficiency, as well as noise performance.
研究成果
The study demonstrated that dual-pump degenerate one- and three-mode PS architectures in a dispersion-engineered parametric mixer can achieve ultra-low noise wavelength multicasting. The three-mode operation showed a record low noise performance with a noise figure of 1 dB over five multicasted copies and a 2-dB BER sensitivity improvement compared to the one-mode case. Precise dispersion control is essential for achieving noiseless performance over a sizable copy number.
研究不足
The study was limited by the need for precise dispersion manipulation in the parametric mixer to achieve noiseless performance over a scalable high count copy number. Additionally, the experimental setup was inherently an interferometer, subject to ambient induced phase fluctuations.
