研究目的
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a combined regimen of pulsed dye laser (PDL) and systemic retinoids in the treatment of recalcitrant warts among organ transplant recipients (OTR).
研究成果
A combined regimen of PDL and systemic retinoids is a promising modality for treatment of resistant hypertrophic viral warts among OTR.
研究不足
The limitations of this study are the limited sample size and retrospective design. Additionally, systemic retinoids and PDL were not evaluated separately.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A retrospective cohort design was used to evaluate the combined regimen of PDL and systemic retinoids.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
OTR with clinically typical viral warts treated with PDL and systemic retinoids at the laser unit of a tertiary medical center during 2013–2019 were enrolled.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
PDL (V Beam Perfecta, Candela Corp, Wayland, MA, USA) was used with specific parameters.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Patients' lesions were treated with PDL using a 5-mm spot size,
5:5-ms pulse duration, and fluence of 12–14 J/cm2 applied at 2–3 stacked pulses. PDL treatments were repeated at 4–8-week intervals. Data Analysis Methods:
Clinical improvement was rated based on a quartile scale of improvement. Bivariate analysis was performed using the Fisher exact test.
