The hierarchical BiOCl/TiO2-δ fiber photocatalysts were successfully fabricated, exhibiting enhanced broadband photocatalytic performance in the degradation of organic pollutants. The introduction of oxygen vacancies extends the light response range to visible region, and the construction of p-n junction promotes charge separation. This work provides useful guidelines for the design and synthesis of effective solar-light-driven photocatalysts in real wastewater treatment.

1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A sol-gel method combined with centrifugal spinning technology and subsequent heat treatment under steam was used to synthesize the hierarchical porous oxygen-deficient TiO2 fibers decorated with BiOCl nanosheets.

Titanium tetrachloride (TCT), sodium hydroxide (NaOH), triethylamine (TEA), acetylacetone (AcAc), bismuth nitrate pentahydrate (Bi(NO3)3·5H2O), tetrahydrofuran (THF), methanol (MeOH), phenol (PhOH), triethanolamine (TEOA), isopropanol (IPA), benzoquinone (BQ) and 5,5-dimethyl-1-pyrroline-N-oxide (DMPO) were used.

4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The NaCl/TiO2-δ fibers were synthesized via a sol-gel approach combined with force spinning technology. The BiOCl/TiO2-δ fibers were prepared by one-pot deposition process at ambient temperature and pressure.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The photocatalytic performances were assessed by degrading the azo dye X-3B in aqueous solution and the role of dye sensitization in affecting photocatalysis was verified by the degradation of colorless PhOH in aqueous solution.
