The proposed antenna exhibits very wide measured 3-dB gain BW of 50.3% (6.1-10.2 GHz) with a peak gain of about 14 dBi and impedance BW of 48.9% (6.8-11.2 GHz). The antenna also shows significant performance improvements and size reduction compared to existing designs in the literature.

The essential disadvantage of the proposed design is the high profile due to the required half-wavelength cavity thickness.
