研究目的
The purpose of this work is to provide the first complete and robust photometric empirical calibration of the Gaia red clump stars of the solar neighbourhood through colour–colour, effective temperature–colour, and absolute magnitude–colour relations from the Gaia, Johnson, 2MASS, Hipparcos, Tycho-2, APASS-SLOAN, and WISE photometric systems, and the APOGEE DR13 spectroscopic temperatures.
研究成果
The study provides the first complete and robust photometric empirical calibration of the Gaia red clump stars, including colour–colour, effective temperature–colour, and absolute magnitude–colour relations. The calibrations are based on a large dataset and account for uncertainties through a robust MCMC method. The results are in good agreement with previous studies and can be used to improve distance measurements and the understanding of stellar populations.
研究不足
The study is limited by the quality and coverage of the photometric and spectroscopic data available, the selection criteria for low extinction stars, and the potential biases introduced by the sample selection and handling of interstellar extinction.
