研究目的
To examine the temperature contrast in the longwave infrared of an enhanced concentration of methane in a near surface plume for a variety of concentrations, plume temperatures, and plume thicknesses.
研究成果
Results indicate radiometric temperature absolute differences ranging from 0.0 to 6.8 K for a single band centered at 7.68 μm are possible for a range of plume conditions. This indicates that single band thermal imaging systems with sufficient sensitivity may detect the presence of the plumes in single pixels. Future work will include validating these modeling results through comparison to empirical airborne observations and performing additional parameter configuration scenarios.
研究不足
The study is based on modeling results and requires validation through comparison to empirical airborne observations. Additional parameter configuration scenarios need to be explored.
