研究目的
To explore a novel method for sand sample characterization based on the combination of THz-TDS and chemometrics for environmental and geographical studies.
研究成果
THz-TDS combined with chemometrics can effectively classify sand samples from different deserts and grain sizes, providing a novel tool for environmental and geographical studies.
研究不足
The method may be limited by the complexity of sand compositions and the need for precise sample preparation.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection
THz-TDS combined with chemometrics was utilized for identifying the source of sand samples and analyzing the sizes of sand granule. Spectral pretreatment methods included Savitzky–Golay smoothing and orthogonal signal correction (OSC).
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources
Sand samples from four deserts in China (Kubuqi Desert, Mu Us Desert, Otindag Sand Land, and Horqin Sand Land) were collected, treated, and divided into four groups based on grain size.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials
THz-TDS spectrometer with transmittance system, SEM system, EDS system, FTIR spectrometer.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow
Sand samples were prepared into pellets and measured by THz-TDS. SEM, EDS, and FTIR were used for additional characterization.
5:Data Analysis Methods
PCA, PLS-DA, and SVM were used for data analysis and model establishment.
