研究目的
Investigating the measured surface acoustic wave (SAW) acoustoelectric effect (AE) using single-layer thin-film graphene on 128°, Y-cut, and X-propagating lithium niobate (128-LN) to make fundamental advancements in radios, sensors, and other applications.
研究成果
The study demonstrated the basic operational parameters of the AE at 1350 MHz using single-layer thin graphene films on 128-LN, showing a direct affirmation of the AE with a greatest directivity obtained of 3 dB. Future work will involve characterizing power and heating effects on gain with alternate patterns of graphene and investigation of the gain limitations in the graphene films on SAW substrates using the AE.
研究不足
The study noted poor consistency in measurements in an open-air environment and the need for vacuum conditions for reliable measurements. Excessive heating at higher dc power levels within the thin-film graphene and SAW substrate was observed, indicating a need for further investigation into power and heating effects on gain.
