The incorporation of TiO2 nanoparticles into k-C/X/G films significantly improved their mechanical, thermal, and water barrier properties, as well as their UV shielding and antimicrobial activities. These nanocomposite films show high potential for use in food and non-food packaging applications.

The study focused on the effect of TiO2 on the properties of the nanocomposite films but did not explore the long-term stability or biodegradability of the films under environmental conditions. The antimicrobial activity was only tested against a limited number of bacterial species.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The nanocomposite films were prepared by solvent casting method using k-carrageenan, xanthan gum, gellan gum, and TiO2 nanoparticles. The films were characterized for their mechanical, thermal, and water barrier properties.

FT-IR (Spectrum 100, PerkinElmer), XRD (D/Max, Rigaku), SEM (Hitachi S-4100), DSC (TA Instruments), TGA (TA Instruments), UV-Vis spectrophotometer (Shimadzu UV-1601), contact angle analyzer (OCA 20, dataphysics instruments GmbH), universal testing machine (Model 3345, Instron).
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The films were prepared by dissolving the polymers and TiO2 nanoparticles in water, casting the solution on a glass plate, and drying. The films were then characterized using various techniques.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The data were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan’s multiple range tests with SPSS software.
