研究目的
To investigate the influence of the alignment angle of molecules on the cutoff of the high-order harmonics.
研究成果
The study concludes that the cutoff of harmonic spectra from aligned O2 and N2 molecules is influenced by the alignment angles due to the anisotropy in molecular ionization, which is rooted in the nonuniform electron distributions of the highest occupied molecular orbital. The findings suggest that the polarization of the laser crossing the denser region of the electron cloud leads to a larger ionization rate and a smaller saturation laser intensity, resulting in the harmonic spectra being cut off at lower energy.
研究不足
The study is limited to the theoretical simulation of the HHG process and does not include experimental validation. The focus is on O2 and N2 molecules, and the findings may not be directly applicable to other molecules.
