研究目的
To provide a consistent framework for the decomposition of the single-photon total angular momentum (TAM) into spin (SAM) and orbital (OAM) components, and to explore the implications of these decompositions on quantum observables and measurements.
研究成果
The study concludes that the canonical decomposition of the TAM into SAM and OAM results in mutually compatible but unsharp quantum observables, described by POVMs. In contrast, the non-canonical decomposition yields mutually incompatible but sharp observables, described by PVMs, which are consistent with the transversality condition of single-photon wavefunctions. The differences between these decompositions have observable effects on higher-order statistical moments, providing a basis for experimental discrimination between them.
研究不足
The study is theoretical and does not include experimental validation. The analysis is limited to single-photon states and may not directly extend to more complex quantum systems or multi-photon states.
