研究目的
To propose and evaluate an effective topology reconfiguration strategy named optical circuit bridge (OCBridge) for optical or hybrid electrical/optical switching data center network (DCN) architectures that can adapt the optical-layer topology to various network traffic demands by considering the traffic demands between the source and destination regions of each OCS link.
研究成果
The OCBridge strategy shows superiority in terms of network throughput capacity and OCS bandwidth utilization in different OCS-based DCN architectures. It is capable of accelerating distributed computing applications by effectively reconfiguring the OCS layer topology to meet network traffic demands.
研究不足
The study acknowledges that the OCS connections built by OCBridge cannot offload all the network demands between the nodes in their source and destination regions under heavier network loads, leading to narrowing the area of the regions. Additionally, the communication cost increases with the size of the source and destination regions.
