Parallels and Interrelated Regularities in the Change of the Bulk and Surface Properties of CdBVI–CdTe Systems
摘要: Comprehensive studies of the volume (structural, optical, electrophysical) and surface (acid-base, adsorption) properties of solid solutions and binary components of the CdS–CdTe and CdSe–CdTe systems are carried out. The regularities in the changes of these properties with a variation in the composition and the parallels between the patterns within each system and under their comparison are established. The leading influence of the common binary component, cadmium telluride, on the properties of solid solutions of both systems is revealed. The possibility of predicting the surface activity of these new materials with respect to gases of different electronic natures is shown on the basis of the results of less labor-intensive studies of the bulk physical and chemical properties (in comparison with direct studies of the surface characteristics, i.e., acid-base and adsorption characteristics). Practical recommendations on using the obtained materials in corresponding sensors are made.

Alveolar TiO2-β-SiC photocatalytic composite foams with tunable properties for water treatment
摘要: New alveolar TiO2-β-SiC photocatalytic composite foams gathering within a ready-to-use media, the TiO2 active phase and the β-SiC alveolar foam structure have been prepared through a Shape Memory Synthesis (SMS) replica method. They have been obtained by incorporating TiO2 powders inside the infiltration slurry used for transforming the pre-shaped polyurethane foam into its corresponding carbide. The photocatalytic composite foams contained 16 wt. % and 24 wt. % of TiO2, most of them being available for the reaction by being located in the external layer of the foam rather than dispersed within the foam matrix, so that no further post-synthesis immobilization process was needed for coating the foam with TiO2 active phase. The adsorption behaviour of the TiO2-β-SiC composite foams towards the Diuron pollutant in water was tuned by applying a final calcination treatment to the as-synthesized foams within the 400-700 °C range, that allowed to tune the amount of residual unreacted carbon within the foams, while allowing the formation of small TiO2 crystallites via the selective oxidation of TiC carbide, and thanks to the β-SiC resistance to oxidation. The TiO2-β-SiC composite foams calcined at 700 °C outperformed a reference β-SiC supported foam TiO2 catalyst in terms of diuron degradation, while the reference foam remained more efficient in terms of mineralization rate.

Gas Adsorption and Fluorescent Sensing Properties of Two Porous Lanthanide Metal-Organic Frameworks Based on 3,5-Bis(2-carboxy-phenoxy)-Benzoic Acid
摘要: Two porous isomorphic 3D Eu(Ⅲ)/Nd(Ⅲ) lanthanide metal?organic frameworks (Ln-MOFs), formulated as {[Eu(BCPB)(H2O)(DMF)]·H2O·1.5CH3OH}n (1) and {[Nd(BCPB)(H2O)(DMF)]·2H2O}n (2), have been designed and synthesized by using the tripodal ligand of 3,5-bis(2-carboxy-phenoxy)-benzoic acid (H3BCPB) under solvothermal condition. Complexes 1 and 2 display 3D (3,6)-c net with the point symbol of {4.62}2{42.610.83}. Furthermore, fluorescent measurements showed 1 has highly selective detection for Fe3+ and CrO4 2- ions in aqueous solution, which shows that it acts as a chemical sensor for detecting Fe3+/CrO4 2- in aqueous solution. Meanwhile, gas adsorption properties of 1 and 2 have also been studied at different temperatures for N2, CH4 and CO2.
