    摘要: Using the coupled-mode method, the effects of propagation of laser radiation in a coupler of two parallel waveguide arrays are studied. It is shown that due to the composite spatial structures of each of the subsystems, the structure of the spatial distribution of radiation intensity in the subsystems is substantially complicated in the investigating system.

  • Maximum Power Point Tracking Technology of Photovoltaic Array under Partial Shading Based On Adaptive Improved Differential Evolution Algorithm

    摘要: In the case of partial shading conditions, there will be more than one maximum power point (MPP) in photovoltaic (PV) array. The traditional maximum power point tracking (MPPT) methods are easy to get in the local maximum power point (LMPP) and fail. Based on the standard di?erential evolution (DE) algorithm, the mutation strategy, scaling factor F, and cross factor CR of the algorithm are optimized. Also, the population position variance δ2 is used to prevent falling into LMPP. Finally, the conditions for algorithm termination and restart are set. It is veri?ed by simulation that the method has fast convergence speed, high accuracy, and can adapt well to changes in the external environment. The improved DE algorithm has a great advantage in MPPT.

  • Multispectral imaging of mineral samples by infrared quantum dot focal plane array sensors

    摘要: Infrared (IR) spectral imaging is a powerful tool for component analysis and identification in the geological field. In this report, we originally use quantum dot infrared photodetector (QDIP) focal plane arrays (FPAs) with different peak-responsivity wavelengths to analyze the mineral composition of rock samples by IR spectral imaging and show the QDIP’s potential as a solution for some geological problems. After clarifying fundamental characteristics such as the blackbody responsivity, current noise density, and spectral responsivity of QDIPs, we present qualitative and quantitative analyses of mineral samples including conglomerate, sandstone, marble, and dolomite. In the qualitative analysis, we distinguish two different compositions in each rock. In the quantitative analysis, we measure the emittance of dolomite and show the emittance errors. Finally, we discuss which experimental factor determines the quantitative precision most dominantly.

    摘要: A novel planar ultrathin electronically steerable parasitic array radiator (ESPAR) is presented in this paper. Through theoretical analysis of the electric fields of orthogonally crossed dipoles in phase quadrature, it is found that the crossed dipoles radiate linearly polarized wave with a rotational electric field in the azimuth plane. This characteristic is then utilized to design a planar crossed dipole ESPAR, termed as “CD-ESPAR.” Furthermore, a simple but effective impedance matching method is also proposed and analyzed. To verify these concepts, a prototype with compact size and very low profile (0.42 λ0 × 0.42 λ0 × 0.006 λ0) resonating at 2.3 GHz is designed, fabricated, and measured. The measured results indicate that the proposed antenna achieves more than 17.8% impedance bandwidth and can produce four directional beams, covering the whole azimuth plane. Owing to its planar ultrathin structure, compact size, electronically beam-switching ability, low power, and low cost characteristics, it is promising for applications in wireless communications.

    摘要: Studies involving turbulent flow have been carried out in many parts of the cardiovascular system, and it has been widely reported that turbulence related to stenosis (narrowing) of arteries creates audible sounds, which may be analyzed to yield information about the nature and severity of the blockage. Results so far indicate that the high frequency content of the sounds generally increases with the degree of stenosis. In this paper, we designed and built an MEMs microphone array and a signal acquisition board to improve the detection of coronary occlusions using an approach based on the recording and analysis of isolated diastolic heart sounds associated with turbulent blood flow in occluded coronary arteries. The nonlinear dynamic analysis method based on approximate entropy has been proposed for the analysis of diastolic heart sounds from patients with single coronary occlusions, before and after stent placement procedures. The nonlinear dynamic analysis (approximate entropy) measures of the diastolic heart sounds recorded from eight patients with single coronary occlusions and two normal subjects were estimated. In addition, a spectral analysis based on the fast Fourier transform was used to estimate the energy content of the recorded signals. Results suggest the presence of high nonlinear (approximate entropy) values of diastolic heart sounds associated with coronary artery disease (p < 0.01) as well as significant differences in the energy content of the heart sound signals above and below 150 Hz (p < 0.05).

  • Design and Simulation of a Slot Waveguide Array Antenna (SWAA) for Satellite Communications

    摘要: One of the most used antennas today, is that of slots in waveguides. These antennas are an important type within the microwave range with various applications in electronic communications systems, radar, and satellite applications, due to its high power capacity, high efficiency, low weight, compact structure and few lateral lobes, all added together to its proven resistance to radiation, high temperatures and vibration, characteristics without which they can not be used in aerospace applications. The following lines show the design and simulation of a Slot Waveguide Array Antenna (SWAA) for satellite communications in the 30 GHz band. The antenna will be approximately 170x170 mm, constituted by 24x24 slots. It will be fed by waveguides in a lower layer connected to the radiating guides through slots. The modeling and design of the different elements that make up the power grid as T- junctions and elbows in the E and H planes were carried out.

  • A digital controlled pulse generator for a novel tumor therapy combining irreversible electroporation with nanosecond pulse stimulation

    摘要: The irreversible electroporation with microsecond electric pulses is a new ablation technique adopted in the tumor therapy worldwide. On the other hand, the nsPEF (nanosecond pulsed electric field) has been proved to provide a means to induce immunogenic cell death and elicits antitumor immunity, which is under intensive in-vitro and in-vivo studies and in clinical trials. Normally, one needs two different types of electric pulse generators for producing the pulses in the ranges of nanosecond and microsecond, respectively. In order to realize these two types of tumor treatments in complementary and optimize electrical pulse parameters, we have developed a compact high-voltage pulse generator with a wide pulse width tuning range, based on a capacitor discharging configuration digitally controlled by a silicon carbide MOSFET switching array through a pair of optic-coupler drivers. The developed digital pulse generator is capable of adjusting: pulse width over 100ns-100μs, voltage over 0-2kV and repetition rate up to 1.2 kHz. The pulse generator is designed in simulation, implemented and verified in experiments. The pulse generator is shown to deliver a complementary treatment on Murine melanoma B16 cell lines, i.e. triggering the cell early apoptosis under the 300ns pulse stimulation while a complete killing under the 100ns pulses. The pulse generator is further demonstrated to induce antitumor immunity in a preliminary in vivo study on the mice model.

  • Application of Capillary Zone Electrophoresis Coupled with a Diode Array Detector (CZE-DAD) for Simultaneous Analysis of Ibuprofen and Phenylephrine

    摘要: Background: A validated method based on capillary zone electrophoresis coupled with a diode array detector (CZE-DAD) was investigated for analyzing binary mixture of ibuprofen (IBU) and phenylephrine (PHE) in their bulk and combined dosage form. Objective: This binary mixture is a challenging one as IBU is acidic and PHE is alkaline, which may affect their simultaneous analysis using CZE. The literature lacks any CZE report for IBU and PHE simultaneous analysis. Methods: Fused silica capillary (85 cm × 75 μm id) was used, and the electrolyte was a 50 mM borate buffer adjusted to pH 11 with 0.5 M NaOH. Results: The concentration ranges were 5–200 and 5–100 μg/mL for IBU and PHE, respectively, using CZE. High efficiency was achieved (N > 92990). Reasonable migration time (tm) was attained (tm< 8.5 min). Conclusions: Although the results obtained by the proposed CZE method and reported HPLC method were statistically comparable, the proposed method showed lower linearity ranges, higher efficiency, and a more reasonable run time. Highlights: CZE-DAD was used for the analysis of IBU and PHE in bulk and tablets, as no report was found for their determination using CZE. Binary mixture is challenging due to differences in chemical and physical properties. A detailed discussion of electrophoretic parameters optimization is included. Confirmation of peak purity was attained using DAD.

  • High-speed Optical-beam Scanning by an Optical Phased Array using Electro-optic Polymer Waveguides

    摘要: Optical phased arrays (OPAs), which manipulate an optical beam by controlling the phase of light, are optical devices characterized by high speed, small size, light weight, and high reliability that make various applications possible. In this study, an eight-channel-waveguide OPA using an electro-optic (EO) polymer for phase control was fabricated. Very high-speed optical beam scanning with a frequency of 2 MHz was demonstrated by applying a driving waveform superimposing sinusoidal and rectangular-wave voltages. Furthermore, the EO polymer OPA can be operated with a low total-operation power consumption of 0.38 mW at a scanning speed of 500 kHz.

    摘要: In this paper, a nanostructure array is proposed to achieve a full-wavelength structural color in the visible range. The nanostructure is designed form of triangular prism which is composed of three layers of TiN, Si3N4 and Si materials. The cross section of the triangular prism is an isosceles triangle. By calculating the reflectance of such nanostructure array, it is found that the periodic variation has little effect on the scattering peak of the nanostructure array when we vary the cross-sectional area of the triangular prism and the period respectively. As the cross-sectional area of the triangular prism increases, the scattering peak shifts to red. According to our simulation, a variety of colors such as purple, green, cyan, orange, and red can be obtained. The proposed nanostructure array, which utilizes TiN as capping layer, can provide some new ways for realizing a sustainable structural color for various applications.
