Fine metal mask material and manufacturing process for high-resolution active-matrix organic light-emitting diode displays
摘要: Manufacturing fine metal mask (FMM) is one of the biggest hurdles to realize the ultra-high definition (UHD) grade AMOLED displays for smartphone and augmented reality (AR). We have developed the state-of-the-art material and processing technology to achieve 800ppi or higher-resolution FMMs. The Invar thinning and the thermal damage-free laser ablation process realized us achieving the FMM for UHD displays.

State of the art on cryo-laser cryo-sclerotherapy in lower limb venous aesthetic treatment
摘要: Here we describe a combination of neodymium:yttrium-aluminium-garnet 1064-nm laser emission and injection of 75% dextrose solution to treat lower limb reticular veins. The strategy is known as cryo-laser cryo-sclerotherapy. Preliminary outcomes are reported, showing ecchymosis in up to 30% of cases and intravenous thrombus in 14%. A satisfactory vessel elimination is found in 86% of cases. No improvement or worsening was reported in 14% of patients. The paper provides technical details with the aim of promoting homogeneity in future data collection, so fostering publication of long-term effectiveness and related comparative evaluation with sclerotherapy and laser treatment alone.

摘要: A photo-based augmented reality (Photo AR) system is an AR system that uses photographic images instead of computer graphics of three-dimensional models. Photo AR can display realistic AR views to users, but it requires large disk space due to its many images. Although all images can be significantly compressed into one video format file, the decoding and memory storage process are time-consuming. In this study, we propose a method to accelerate data loading for Photo AR operating on a web browser in a mobile device. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.

A Novel Weighted Integral Energy Functional (WIEF) Algorithm: Augmented Reality (AR) for Visualising the Blood Vessels in Breast Implant Surgeries
摘要: The use of Augmented Reality (AR) for visualising blood vessels in surgery is still at the experimental stage and has not been implemented due to limitations in terms of accuracy and processing time. The AR also hasn't applied in breast surgeries yet. As there is a need for a plastic surgeon to see the blood vessels before he cuts the breast and before putting the implant, this paper aims to improve the accuracy of augmented videos in visualising blood vessels during Breast Implant Surgery. The proposed system consists of a Weighted Integral Energy Functional (WIFE) algorithm to increase the accuracy of the augmented view in visualising the occluded blood vessels that covered by fat in the operating room. The results on breast area shows that the proposed algorithm improves video accuracy in terms of registration error to 0.32 mm and processing time to 23 sec compared to the state-of-the-art method. The proposed system focuses on increasing the accuracy in augmented view in visualising blood vessels during Breast Implant Surgery as it reduces the registration error. Thus, this study concentrates on looking at the feasibility of the use of Augmented Reality technology in Breast Augmentation surgeries.

A study on differences in human perception between a real and an AR scene viewed in an OST-HMD
摘要: With the recent growth in the development of augmented reality (AR) technologies, it is becoming important to study human perception of AR scenes. In order to detect whether users will suffer more from visual and operator fatigue when watching virtual objects through optical see-through head-mounted displays (OST-HMDs), compared with watching real objects in the real world, we propose a comparative experiment including a virtual magic cube task and a real magic cube task. The scores of the subjective questionnaires (SQ) and the values of the critical flicker frequency (CFF) were obtained from 18 participants. In our study, we use several electrooculogram (EOG) and heart rate variability (HRV) measures as objective indicators of visual and operator fatigue. Statistical analyses were performed to deal with the subjective and objective indicators in the two tasks. Our results suggest that participants were very likely to suffer more from visual and operator fatigue when watching virtual objects presented by the OST-HMD. In addition, the present study provides hints that HRV and EOG measures could be used to explore how visual and operator fatigue are induced by AR content. Finally, three novel HRV measures are proposed to be used as potential indicators of operator fatigue.

摘要: Using projection mapping, we can control the appearance of real-world objects by projecting colored light onto them. Because a projector can only add illumination to the scene, only a limited color gamut can be presented through projection mapping. In this paper we describe how the controllable color gamut can be extended by accounting for human perception and visual illusions. In particular, we induce color constancy to control what color space observers will perceive. In this paper, we explain the concept of our approach, and show first results of our system.

摘要: There have been many researches on projection mapping focused on target objects tracking, geometric shape recovering or virtual materials simulating such as clothes. However, few people pay attention to the material of target object which actually influences the visual results of projection. We present a new projection mapping framework based on BRDF reconstruction for the goal of more real projection results by enhancing the effects of Augmented Reality. In the framework, 3D computer vision method is used to reconstruct the BRDF of target object with a single RGBD image. A new algorithm is proposed using two Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN) which can predict both normal map and reflectance map of the target surface simultaneously with the RGBD image. The predicted maps are used to render the content to be projected onto the target object. Our BRDF reconstruction algorithm can recover several materials in one scene correctly in use of just one image. Experimental results show our framework has impressive performance and relatively accurate consequence.

摘要: This paper describes the design, development and testing of an AR system that was developed for aerospace and ground vehicles to meet stringent accuracy and robustness requirements. The system uses an optical see-through HMD, and thus requires extremely low latency, high tracking accuracy and precision alignment and calibration of all subsystems in order to avoid mis-registration and “swim”. The paper focuses on the optical/inertial hybrid tracking system and describes novel solutions to the challenges with the optics, algorithms, synchronization, and alignment with the vehicle and HMD systems. Tracker accuracy is presented with simulation results to predict the registration accuracy. A car test is used to create a through-the-eyepiece video demonstrating well-registered augmentations of the road and nearby structures while driving. Finally, a detailed covariance analysis of AR registration error is derived.

Wirtinger holography for near-eye displays
摘要: Near-eye displays using holographic projection are emerging as an exciting display approach for virtual and augmented reality at high-resolution without complex optical setups D shifting optical complexity to computation. While precise phase modulation hardware is becoming available, phase retrieval algorithms are still in their infancy, and holographic display approaches resort to heuristic encoding methods or iterative methods relying on various relaxations. In this work, we depart from such existing approximations and solve the phase retrieval problem for a hologram of a scene at a single depth at a given time by revisiting complex Wirtinger derivatives. We also discuss extending our framework to render 3D volumetric scenes. Using Wirtinger derivatives allows us to pose the phase retrieval problem as a quadratic problem which can be minimized with first-order optimization methods. The proposed Wirtinger Holography is flexible and facilitates the use of different loss functions, including learned perceptual losses parametrized by deep neural networks, as well as stochastic optimization methods. We validate this framework by demonstrating holographic reconstructions with an order of magnitude lower error, both in simulation and on an experimental hardware prototype.
