  • Complex Dielectric and Impedance Spectroscopic Studies in a Multiferroic Composite of Bi2Fe4O9-BiFeO3

    摘要: Complex dielectric and impedance spectroscopic studies have been carried out in a detailed manner on the system comprising of Bi2Fe4O9-BiFeO3 composite particles dispersed in a α-Fe2O3 matrix as prepared using ball milling and controlled annealing treatments. This multiferroic composite is observed to exhibit a giant dielectric constant associated with a low tangent loss. A non-Debye type of relaxation has been deduced based on complex modulus analysis. Based on these studies, the important role played by bismuth ferrite nanoshell in the core-shell composite of Bi2Fe4O9-BiFeO3 is elucidated for the observed complex impedance spectroscopic properties of the system. Electron hopping across Fe2+/Fe3+ and oxygen vacancies are deduced to be playing an important role in conduction mechanisms based on activation energy analysis of the complex impedance spectroscopy results.

  • Construction of Z-Scheme g-C3N4/CNT/Bi2Fe4O9 Composites with Improved Simulated-Sunlight Photocatalytic Activity for the Dye Degradation

    摘要: In this work, ternary all-solid-state Z-scheme g-C3N4/carbon nanotubes/Bi2Fe4O9 (g-C3N4/CNT/BFO) composites with enhanced photocatalytic activity were prepared by a hydrothermal method. The morphology observation shows that ternary heterojunctions are formed in the g-C3N4/CNT/BFO composites. The photocatalytic activity of the samples for the degradation of acid orange 7 was investigated under simulated sunlight irradiation. It was found that the ternary composites exhibit remarkable enhanced photocatalytic activity when compared with bare BFO and g-C3N4/BFO composites. The effect of the CNT content on the photocatalytic performance of the ternary composites was investigated. The photocatalytic mechanism of g-C3N4/CNT/BFO was proposed according to the photoelectrochemical measurement, photoluminescence, active species trapping experiment and energy-band potential analysis. The results reveal that the introduction of CNT as an excellent solid electron mediator into the ternary composites can effectively accelerate the electron migration between BFO and g-C3N4. This charge transfer process results in highly-ef?cient separation of photogenerated charges, thus leading to greatly enhanced photocatalytic activity of g-C3N4/CNT/BFO composites. Furthermore, the g-C3N4/CNT/BFO composites also exhibit highly-ef?cient photo-Fenton-like catalysis property.

  • Magnetically recoverable Ag/Bi2Fe4O9 nanoparticles as a visible-light-driven photocatalyst

    摘要: This paper reports magnetically recoverable Ag/Bi2Fe4O9 nanoparticles (BFO NPs) using as a photoexcited catalyst. The Ag NPs are uniformly distributed on the surface of BFO NPs. Compared to BFO NPs, the decomposition rate of methyl orange for Ag/BFO NPs under the visible-light is greatly enhanced due to the high surface plasmon resonance and electron conductivities of Ag NPs. Moreover, Ag/BFO NPs have a higher saturation magnetization than BFO NPs, which makes them can be collected easily under magnetic fields. Therefore, Ag/BFO NPs are potential recoverable visible-light-driven photocatalyst for environmental pollutants degradation.
