  • Pulsed laser ablation route assisted copper oxide nanoparticles doped in Polyethylene Oxide/Polyvinyl pyrrolidone blend for enhancement the electrical conductivity

    摘要: Polyethylene Oxide/Polyvinyl pyrrolidone blend was doped by Copper Oxide Nanoparticles (CuONPs) prepared by laser ablation process. Synthesized Copper oxide nanoparticles were prepared by ablating pure copper plate immersed in DDW by nanosecond Nd:YAG laser in different times. PEO/PVP/CuONPs nanocomposites have been synthesized via casting technique. Effect of CuONPs doping on enhancing PEO/PVP have been obtained. The influence of various times of laser ablation on the properties of the synthesized nanocomposite films was analyzed via several techniques. SEM and XRD proved the interaction between PEO/PVP blend and CuONPs. The presence of the distinctive absorption peak at UV-Vis range at 277 nm was due to copper oxide surface plasmon resonance (SPR). The direct and indirect optical band gap values illustrate a decrease following doping of copper oxide inside PEO/PVP matrix. Dielectric constant and dielectric loss activity gradually diminished as the frequency rises. AC conductivity were increased as laser time increased.

  • Utility of copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO-NPs) as efficient electron donor material in bulk-heterojunction solar cells with enhanced power conversion efficiency

    摘要: In the present work, we have endeavored the utilization of wet-chemically synthesized copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO-NPs) as the active layer in hybrid bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells. The BHJs with CuO-NPs display significantly different physics from customary BHJs, and prove a noteworthy improvement in their performance. It is noted that with the addition of CuO-NPs, the morphology of the photoactive layer endures significant changes. Incorporating CuO-NPs is an additional paradigm for BHJs solar cells which enhances the photocurrent density from 9.43 mA/cm2 to 11.32 mA/cm2 and the external quantum efficiency as well. Also the power-conversion efficiency (PCE) improved from 2.85 % to 3.82 % without harming the open circuit voltage and the fill factor. The enhancement in PCE achieved here makes it worthy to design high-performance organic solar cells holding inorganic nanoparticles.

  • Biosynthesis and characterization of copper oxide nanoparticles from indigenous fungi and its effect of photothermolysis on human lung carcinoma

    摘要: In this report, copper oxide nanoparticles (TA-CuO NPs) were synthesized using cell-free extract of Trichoderma asperellum and assessed their photothermal induced anticancerous activity. The fungal mediated TA-CuO NPs was confirmed by the surface plasmon resonance at 285-295 nm. The amide (C=O) and aromatic (C=C) groups in secondary metabolites of the extract was found to be an encapsulating or reducing agents for TA-CuO NPs, as indicated by IR spectra. Crystalline nature by cubic face-centered structure of the TA-CuO NPs was confirmed by XRD and their size ranges from 10 to 190 nm and an average of 110 nm by particle size analyzer (PSA). The Ultra HRSEM study revealed spherical shaped TA-CuO NPs. The FETEM results were also in strong agreement with PSA and UHR SEM. The survey-scan spectrum of XPS indicated the presence of C1s (47.83%), Cu2p (16.11%), Na1s (2.2%) and O1s (33.86%). The cell death was significantly found higher in photothermal induced by near-infrared laser (TA-CuO NPs-NIR) treated than that of TA-CuO NPs treatment. The level of ROS (35.62 %) was higher in the treated cells than that of the untreated control, in accordance with the nucleus damage and losses in the mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm). the upregulation of Bcl-2 in untreated cells and Cas-3 in TA-CuO NPs-NIR treated cells was confirmed by western blot analysis. This work agreed the potential biogenic TA-CuO NPs for promising in vitro photothermolysis of cancer cells, for the development of anticancer nanotherapeutics.
