  • Crystal Structure and Luminescence of a Novel Binuclear Zinc(II) Complex with Di-2-Pyridylamine And 4,4′-Sulfonyldibenzoate

    摘要: A binuclear Zn(II) complex [Zn2(SDBA)2(DPA)2?2H2O] (1) (DPA = di-2-pyridylamine, H2SDBA = 4,4′-sulfonyldibenzoic acid) is synthesized and characterized using single crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. The single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that complex 1 is a binuclear zinc(II) complex. The binuclear molecules are further connected by three types of N–H?O, C–H?O, and O–H?O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional supramolecular structure. Meanwhile, S–O?π interactions further consolidate the three-dimensional supramolecular framework of 1. In addition, the thermal stability and luminescent properties of the title complex are briefly investigated. The luminescence measurements reveal that complex 1 exhibits fluorescent emission in the solid state at room temperature.

  • Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Fluorescent Property of a Onedimensional Coordination Polymer Constructed By 1,3-Bis(1,2,4-Triazol-1-Ylmethyl)- Benzene And 4,4′-Oxydiphthalic Acid

    摘要: A one-dimensional Cd(II) complex [Cd(H3ODPT)2(MBTZ)2?2H2O]n (1) (MBTZ = 1,3-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl-methyl)benzene, H4ODPT = 4,4′-oxydiphthalic acid) is synthesized and characterized using single crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that complex 1 is a one-dimensional double chain polymer containing 24-membered rings with MBTZ ligands as the bridges arranged parallel to the b crystal direction, while the singly deprotonated H4ODPT ligands are extended on both sides of such double chains. In addition, the luminescence measurements reveal that complex 1 exhibits strong fluorescent emission in the solid state at room temperature.

  • Subtle structure tailoring of metal-free triazine luminogens for highly efficient ultralong organic phosphorescence

    摘要: Highly efficient ultralong organic phosphorescence (UOP) based on a series of metal-free triazine luminogens was achieved via subtly structural tailoring of bromine substituted positions. Impressively, p-BrAT in solid state displayed high phosphorescence efficiency up to 9.7% with a long lifetime of 386 ms, which was one of the highest efficient UOP materials reported so far in metal-free compounds.

  • Rapid detection of sulfaguanidine in fish by using a photonic crystal molecularly imprinted polymer

    摘要: A photonic crystal (PC) sensor was prepared through molecular imprinting by using dispersed SiO2 microspheres as PC, sulfaguanidine (SG) as template, methacrylic acid as monomer, and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as crosslinker. The preparation conditions were optimized as follows: molar ratio of template, monomer, and crosslinker was 1:10:4; pH was 6.0 in phosphate buffer; and volume fraction of methanol was 15%. The relationship between wavelength shift of reflection peak and SG concentration was found as: △λ=7.8887 lg(C)+79.9664. The response time was only 5 min. The limit of detection was 2.8×10-10 mol L-1. The sensor exhibited higher specificity for SG than its sulfonamide analogs. The sensor maintained original sensing performance after five cycles of usage. The recoveries of SG ranged from 93.8% to 111.2% in lake water and from 88.5% to 115.2% in fish samples. This finding suggested that the sensor can be used in food samples with complicated matrix.

  • Studies on optical, electrical, mechanical and theoretical investigation of 4-nitro-benzoic acid (3-ethoxy-2-hydroxy-benzylidene)-hydrazide: A novel Schiff base organic NLO material

    摘要: New organic non-centrosymmetric Schiff base material 4-Nitro-benzoic acid (3-ethoxy-2-hydroxy-benzylidene)-hydrazide was synthesized and grown as single crystal by slow evaporation solution growth technique. Single crystal X-ray diffraction reveals the noncentrosymmetric nature of the grown crystal with space group Pna21. The nonlinear efficiency of the grown material was studied by Kurtz-Perry powder technique and found to be 0.7 times that of KDP. The photoluminescence emission of the grown crystal shows emission at 360 nm. The mechanical stability of the crystal was examined by Vicker’s microhardness study and the yield strength of the material was calculated. Low dielectric constant at higher frequencies was observed from dielectric measurements. Reduction in charge carriers when the sample was illuminated by halogen lamp proves the negative photoconductivity of the sample. In addition, quantum chemical calculations were carried out using density functional theory for the NEH molecule optimized at B3LYP/6-31+G (d, p) basis set to calculate its frontier molecular orbital, Electrostatic potential and Mulliken charge analysis.

  • Temperature dependence of luminescence properties in Li2WO4 single crystal grown by Bridgman method

    摘要: Transparent Li2WO4 single crystal was grown by vertical Bridgman method. The phase identification, Fourier transform infrared spectra, thermal behavior, and optical transmission spectra of Li2WO4 crystal had been studied in detail. The luminescence properties as a function of temperature were investigated systematically. The transmissivity of as-polished crystal samples with the thickness of 2.0 mm, 4.0 mm, and 6.0 mm reached 85–89%, 81–85%, and 78–81% in 400–800 nm wavelength range, respectively. Li2WO4 crystal has wide luminescence peaks around 626 nm, 574 nm, and 543 nm at the ambient temperature of 30 K, 50 K, and 75 K, respectively. The luminescence peaks are ascribed to the intrinsic luminescence emission of tetrahedral [WO4]2-. The emission line width presents an obvious broadening with the increasing temperature. The maximal luminescence intensity increases with the ambient temperatures cooling down. The luminescence decay times monotonically decrease with the temperature increasing in temperature range of 30–75 K. The decay times at 30 K, 50 K, and 75 K correspond to 97.92 m s, 30.16 m s, and 1.97 m s, respectively, while maintain a constant around 1.80 m s in 75–300 K.

  • Construction of liquid crystal-based sensing platform for sensitive and selective detection of L-phenylalanine based on alkaline phosphatase

    摘要: The detection of L-phenylalanine (L-Phe) has become one of most pressing issues concerning diagnosis and treatment of phenylketonuria in neonates, yet a simple and robust methodology has yet to be developed. Here the application of novel liquid crystals (LCs) sensing platform for sensitive, selective, and label-free detection of L-Phe was reported at the first time. We devised a strategy to fabricate the sodium monododecyl phosphate (SMP) decorated LC sensing platform with the appearance of dark. Then, a dark to bright (D-B) optical images alteration of LCs was observed after transferring alkaline phosphatase (ALP) to the interface, owing to cleavage of SMP induced by ALP. LCs remained dark images after the SMP-decorated interface in contact with the pre-incubated ALP and L-Phe. Such optical appearance resulted from the inhibition of ALP by L-Phe, which was further verified by the isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC). The strategy was applied to sensing L-Phe, which have been proven to allow for sensitively and selectively differentiation of L-Phe from interfering compounds with similar aromatic groups, as well as seven other essential amino acids. More importantly, the detection limit of L-Phe reached 1 pg/mL in urine samples, further demonstrated its value in the practical applications. Results obtained in this study clearly demonstrated the superiority of LCs towards the L-Phe detection, which can pave a way for the development of high performance and robust probes for L-Phe detection in clinical applications.

  • High Speed and Narrow-Bandpass Liquid Crystal Filter for Real-Time Multi Spectral Imaging Systems

    摘要: We have developed the high speed bandpass liquid crystal filter with narrow full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 5 nm for real-time multi spectral imaging systems. We have successfully achieved short wavelength-switching time of 30 ms by the optimization of phase retardation of thin liquid crystal cells.

  • Single-Crystal ZnO/AlN Core/Shell Nanowires for Ultraviolet Emission and Dual-Color Ultraviolet Photodetection

    摘要: Core–shell nanostructures can combine the advantages of different functional materials to realize property tunability and enhance optical and optoelectrical performance. Here, vertically aligned ZnO/AlN core/shell nanowires have been facilely fabricated by sputtering AlN layer onto the ZnO nanowires grown by vapor phase transport. The morphological and structural characterization reveals that single-crystal AlN shell layer with thickness of ≈15 nm is coated uniformly on the single-crystal ZnO nanowire with diameters of ≈330 nm. The core/shell nanowire exhibits 24 times enhancement of ultraviolet emission and quenching of the deep level emission from ZnO. Moreover, under ultraviolet irradiation (325 nm), the photodetector based on the core/shell nanowire displays higher photoresponsivity (from 3.8 × 103 to 2.05 × 104 A W?1), faster response speed (from 397 to 28 ms), and higher I325nm/Idark ratio (from 453 to 1.1 × 104) than that bare ZnO nanowire device. Under the vacuum ultraviolet (193 nm) illumination, the I193nm/Idark ratio and photoresponsivity are 300 and 381 A W?1, respectively. In one word, this paper employs a facile and general technique to solve a challenging fabrication issue, and obtains perfect crystal core/shell structure with high performance for ultraviolet emission and detection.
