DUAL-BAND BANDPASS FILTER USING COMPOSITE COUPLING STRUCTURE FOR CPW/MICROSTRIP
摘要: By using a composite coupling structure for coplanar waveguide (CPW)/microstrip, a new dual-band bandpass ?lter (DBBPF) stacking inverted Y-shaped CPW resonators and rectangular ring resonators is proposed. Two resonant frequency bands are simultaneously excited by the CPW feed line. However, it can be convenient to tune individually. Several transmission zeros are realized to improve the selectivity of the ?lter and achieve wide stopband rejection. Good agreement between simulated and measured results demonstrates the validity of this DBBPF.

摘要: In this paper, a dual-band bandpass ?lter(BPF) is designed using edge-open Split Ring Resonators(SRR) which is obtained by modifying the conventional SRRs. The inner ring and the outer ring of the edge-open SRRs are connected to stubs to get dual passbands with improved ?lter characteristics. The rings of the SRR are loaded with varactor diodes to tune the individual passbands of the proposed BPF. The ?rst passband can be tuned independently by varying the capacitance of the varactor diode D1 while the second passband remains unchanged by ?xing the capacitance of the varactor diode D2 and vice versa. Hence, the proposed ?lter helps in tuning both the passbands independently of about 0.6GHz for the ?rst passband & 0.3GHz for the second passband and achieves compactness in size of about 20mm x 14mm. The ring equivalents of each rings and the obtained S-parameter results of the proposed BPF while tuning the individual passbands are discussed in this paper.

A NOVEL DUAL-BAND METAMATERIAL ABSORBER AND ITS APPLICATION FOR MICROSTRIP ANTENNA
摘要: In this letter, a novel dual-band metamaterial absorber is presented and analyzed. The absorber is composed of four patches on the top of a thin grounded dielectric substrate which can absorb incident wave at two di?erent frequency bands e?ectively. Then the absorber is loaded on the dual-band microstrip antenna, whose working frequency bands are overlapped with that of the absorber, to reduce the in-band RCS (Radar Cross Section) of antenna. The prototype is simulated, manufactured and measured. Simulated results show that the absorption of the absorber is as high as 98.6% at 4.29 GHz and 99.8% at 6.49 GHz. As to the dual-band antenna loaded with the proposed absorber, its radiation performance is unchanged while the RCS has declined by 8.59 dB at 4.29 GHz and 9.9 dB at 6.49 GHz respectively. There is a good agreement between simulated and measured results, which veri?es that this absorber can be used for in-band RCS reduction of dual-band antenna so as to improve its in-band stealth performance.

A NEW EQUAL POWER QUADRATURE BRANCH LINE COUPLER FOR DUAL-BAND APPLICATIONS
摘要: We present a new equal power quadrature branch line coupler (BLC) for dual-band applications in this paper. A new topology of the dual-band quarter wavelength transmission lines (TL) with the derivation of design equations is also introduced. The proposed BLC is designed using Advanced Design System (ADS) and fabricated on Rogers 5870 at 0.9 GHz and 2.4 GHz center frequencies. The design approach for the proposed dual-band BLC is endorsed by the simulated and measured results. A comparative analysis of this BLC with the previous BLCs is also carried out.

A Low-Cost Compact Planar Dual-Band 3?dB Branch Line Coupler Using an Unbalanced CRLH
摘要: In this work, a compact dual-band 3 dB branch line coupler (BLC) is designed with center frequency at 2.45 GHz and 5.08 GHz using an unbalanced composite right/left-handed transmission line. Based on the two-port ABCD parameters, the lumped equivalent circuit of the proposed TL is extracted and optimized to obtain characteristic impedance at 2.45 GHz and 5.08 GHz. The right- and left-handed characteristics of the proposed TL are examined. Incorporating the proposed TL, a dual-band BLC with 0.29λg × 0.3λg size is obtained. The frequency response has magnitude imbalance of 0.8 dB, phase imbalance of 1.8° and 160 MHz bandwidth at 2.45 GHz and magnitude imbalance of 0.81 dB, phase imbalance of 0.006° and 100 MHz bandwidth at 5.08 GHz.

Design of Dual-Band Bandpass Filter With Multiple Transmission Zeros Using Transversal Signal Interaction Concepts
摘要: In this letter, a compact dual-band bandpass ?lter (BPF) based on the transversal signal interaction concepts is presented. The center frequencies of dual-band BPF are centered at 3.8 and 4.8 GHz with 3-dB fraction bandwidths of 11.3% and 10.7%, respectively. Transversal ?ltering structure is introduced in the proposed dual-band BPF, which provides two signal propagation paths from input to output. Thus, a dozen of transmission zeros are yielded to obtain wide stopband suppression ranging from 5.2 to 16 GHz. To validate the design scheme, a dual-band BPF with high selectivity, compact size, independently controllable bandwidth, and wide stopband suppression is fabricated and measured.

DUAL-BAND DUAL-SENSE CIRCULARLY POLARIZED SLOT ANTENNA WITH AN OPEN-SLOT AND A VERTICAL STUB
摘要: A new dual-band dual-sense circularly polarized (CP) slot antenna is designed in this paper. The proposed antenna is composed of a rectangle patch and a modi?ed ground plane. By opening a U-shaped open-slot and loading a vertical stub to the ground plane, a dual-sense CP performance is achieved for two frequency bands. A bevel is cut on the patch to improve the impedance matching. The antenna is fabricated on a low-cost FR4 substrate and fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) structure. The antenna has been investigated numerically, and a prototype was experimentally measured. Experimental results show that the measured 10-dB return loss impedance bandwidths are 18.3% (2.72–3.27 GHz) for the lower band and 23.7% (4.65–5.90 GHz) for the upper band, and the measured 3-dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidths for the lower and upper bands can be up to 28.4% (2.48–3.30 GHz) and 26.3% (4.63–6.03 GHz), respectively.

Independently controllable dual-band filter using single quad-mode silver-loaded dielectric resonator
摘要: This article proposes a novel bandpass filter with two controllable passbands using a single quad-mode silver-loaded dielectric resonator (DR). The silver plane is inserted in the middle of the cubic DR and two degenerate pairs are used to build the two passbands. Because of the distinct E-field distributions, the silver plane has significant effect on the degenerate pair (TEx112 and TEy112), whereas another one (TEx111 and TEy111) remains unchanged. With the aid of the silver plane, both center frequencies and bandwidths of the two bands can be controlled independently. To verify the proposed idea, a prototype dual-band BPF is designed and fabricated. Good agreement between simulated and measured results can be observed.

Compact Balanced Single-Band and Dual-Band BPFs with Controllable Bandwidth Using FoldedS-Shaped Slotline Resonators (FSSRs)
摘要: In this paper, two compact balanced bandpass filters (BPFs) using half-wavelength folded S-shaped slotline resonators (FSSRs) are designed. The proposed FSSR is realized by extending and folding a traditional S-shaped slotline resonator, which can affect the internal coupling of resonator and reduce the size of the resonator. The balanced stepped-impedance microstrip-slotline transition structures are employed to generate a wideband common-mode (CM) suppression. The proposed filters can realize a single-band differential-mode (DM) bandpass response or a dual-band one by employing one or three FSSRs, respectively. Moreover, the center frequencies of the DM passbands are independent from the CM responses, which can simplify the designs procedure significantly. In order to validate their practicability, a compact balanced dual-band BPF with controllable center frequencies and bandwidths is fabricated and good agreement between the simulated and measured results is observed.

AN INDEPENDENTLY TUNABLE DUAL-BAND BANDPASS FILTER USING A CENTER SHORTING-STUB-LOADED RESONATOR
摘要: This paper presents an independently tunable dual-band bandpass ?lter based on center shorting-stub-loaded resonators. The center shorting-stub-loaded resonator is a dual-mode resonator that generates odd-even modes approximately equal and coupled when the shorting stub is very short. Two di?erent sizes of center shorting-stub-loaded resonators produce two separated resonant frequencies, which are mutually independent. The coupling between the source and load is introduced in the circuit by designing an appropriate coupling structure, and the skirt selectivity of the ?lter is greatly improved. Four varactor diodes are placed at the two open-circuit ends of the center shorting-stub-loaded resonator to control the two separated resonant frequencies. A prototype of a tunable dual-band ?lter with Chebyshev response is designed and fabricated. The measured results are in good agreement with the full-wave simulated results. Results show that the ?rst passband varies in a frequency range from 0.81 GHz to 0.95 GHz with a 3 dB fractional bandwidth of 4.2% to 5%, whereas the second passband can be tuned from 1.51 GHz to 1.79 GHz with a 3 dB fractional bandwidth of 6.8% to 8%.
