摘要: To support the increased internet traffic, usage of 4G enabled smartphones and smart application of the Internet of Things (IoT) leads the requirement of spectrally scalable optical transport platform for the existing National Optical Fiber Network (NOFN) in India. Increasing traffic will soon exhaust the Conventional (C)-band. Therefore, we propose the novel architecture and the extension strategy enabling NOFN to consume the Long (L)-band and improve the total fiber capacity. Spectral expansion using L-band enables the twofold total fiber capacity and cost advantage over the already deployed fibers in the country. In this paper, we demonstrate the successful spectral expansion for NOFN enabling the C+L band transmission, two folding the total fiber capacity.
