    摘要: In the current era of the Internet of Things (IoT), it is a necessary condition to sense and identify the human being to integrate smartness to the living space of human beings. State-of-the-art smart living environments have the goal of being ubiquitous and pervasive with minimal obstruction to the subject. In this respect, device-free and passive technologies are getting increasingly employed. One of the most widely used passive sensors is the Pyro Infrared (PIR) sensors to sense the presence of human being in an IoTized environment. However, they are typically used for presence and immobility monitoring only. Some researchers are using PIR sensors for human speed analysis and human tracking in an indoor scenario. In this work, we investigate the possibility of using the analog signals of PIR sensors for person identification, speed and direction estimation and intruder detection in a smart home styled environment. Our experimental results indicate the feasibility of using these sensors for identification, authentication and motion analysis of human subjects, among a group of 20 individuals. In an experimental setup, devices are switched on/off according to the individual in a shared living environment. With the PIR data performance of different techniques compared. Withal, the system is tested in the authentic scenario. Results prove the efficacy of the system proposed.

    摘要: A strong intern dynamic characterizes towns, a very high spatial heterogeneity of their elements, their 3D geometric shapes (horizontal and vertical) inducing shadows, and their large variety of materials. These characteristics make the collection of information of land surface properties and urban descriptors more delicate. Due to the enhancement of spatial to deepen the observation of urban areas. Nevertheless, such a type of sensors would not contribute to the characterization of the urban land surface properties (chemical composition of materials, species of vegetation, quality of soils, etc.). They and show great potentials might consider Hyperspectral imagery capacities as providing useful products but it becomes mandatory to define which type of information these different sensors can deliver. The ANR HYEP project has the purpose to demonstrate the benefit of a second generation of hyperspectral space borne mission characterized by a high spatial resolution (8m GSD) and a high temporal revisit. After a detailed description of the motivation of such a proposal, applications are given focused on urban vegetation, sealed and impervious areas, solar panel area estimation.

    摘要: The purposes of this research are to investigate a difference of human cognitive behavior (in other word, ecological cognition) in VR using HMD and the real environment and to examine a method to compensate the difference. Therefore, this research conducts a comparative experiment using a cognitive behavior called “Reaching”. First, a subject estimates the longest distance to a cylinder placed in front of the subject at which the subject can reach the cylinder. After that, the subject grabs the cylinder and places it as far as possible. The result is investigated in the real and the virtual environment. In the real, it has been found that the longest distance to an object for a person to decide to be able to reach for and grab the object is about 1.1 times as long as the longest distance where a person actually can reach for grab the object. On the other hand, despite the same scale of the real and the VR environment, this research showed the value in the virtual environment is not the same as one in the real. In addition, the result of measuring the trajectory of grasping the cylinder also showed that there is a difference between the real and the VR environment. As the result, it was found that there is an essential cognition difference between the real and the VR environment, and the amount of environmental information and experience of the virtual environment may influence the ecological cognition in the virtual environment. In addition, as a method to complement the difference, it was suggested that it is necessary to give sufficient information to cognitive behavior.

    摘要: In the recent decades, Visible light communication (VLC) becomes the favorite research topic in the world. VLC has been successfully applied to the outdoor or indoor area though not yet en masse. The VLC transceivers operating in typical indoor environments are subject to intense ambient light, emanating from both natural and artificial sources. The primary sources of ambient light as mentioned before are the background light comes from sunlight, DC light sources (LED bulb & flashlight), incandescent and fluorescent lamps. These signal must be filtered-out because it will make the received signal distortion. Previous research about low-cost Analog Front-End (AFE) circuit has been carried out on the simulation only. This research is trying to test the designed AFE receiver circuit on the laboratory. Moreover, we add the several analog blocks to be involved. The test data obtained; the designed circuit able to compensate the optical noise. It makes VLC system has robustness ability from other lights in the indoor environment.

  • Cool and photocatalytic yellow ceramic pigments; from lead-tin to Cr doped scheelite pigments

    摘要: The historical lead based pigments (XVII-XVIII century), the modern Ni,Sb-rutile (1939) and Pr-zircon (1961) yellow pigments as well as the novel yellow pigments based on Cr-scheelite and Mo-yttrium cerate pigments were synthesised and compared as semiconductors of high NIR reflectance (cool pigments) and with photocatalytic activity. All powders are wide band gap semiconductors (Eg=2.1-3.1 eV) with high NIR reflectance, ranging from 80% for Cr-Scheelite to 86% of Naples yellow, except Ni,Sb-rutile pigment that shows 55%. The low color performance of lead based pigments in alkyd paint and lead-free glazes along with its toxicity, discard these pigments as cool eco-friendly pigments. The Pr-zircon, Cr-scheelite and Mo-yttrium cerate pigments exhibit high NIR reflectance (RNIR=80-83%) and yellow coloration (b*=57.6-45.3) but only Pr-zircon and Cr-scheelite show colour stability in alkyd paint and lead free glaze applications. Regarding to results of Orange II photodegradation test, lead based and Ni,Sb-rutile pigments inhibits the photolysis of the UV irradiation, acting as protecting agents from irradiation. The Mo-cerate shows a slight photocatalytic activity (t1/2 =301 min) and both Cr-scheelite and Pr-zircon pigments show a moderate activity (t1/2 =198 and 184 min respectively). Looking at a possible industrial application, the leaching test shows that the fluorides released by Pr-zircon (16.8 mg/g) as well as the Cr(VI) of Cr-scheelite (6 mg/g) should be treated and controlled. The Cr-scheelite solid solution Ca(CrxW1-x)O4 is stable to x=0.2 but its pigmenting capacity saturates at x=0.1.

    摘要: In the flexible display devices to standardization, the development course and present situation of IEC/TC110 flexible display devices (WG8) are both introduced. Due to the variability of flexible display, the test method of flexible displays is different from traditional displays. At present, many studies have been focusing on the measuring methods of optical characteristics from the vantage point for curved displays, visual assessment of the mechanical reliability and environment tests of flexible display devices are also discussed. Considering the usage environment, the establishment of a reasonable environmental mechanical composite test method is investigated. With the development and the application of flexible and stretchable display devices, the scientific method will be developed.

  • EPR study of luminescence mechanism of Nd3+-doped borate aluminum glass

    摘要: The luminescence mechanisms of Nd3+: B2O3-Al2O3-CaO glasses with different amounts of B2O3 were investigated based on their electron paramagnetic resonance spectra and luminescence properties. The results of the echo-detection field sweep exhibited two different maxima indicating that Nd3+ ions occupy two different sites. 27Al and 11B signals in two-dimensional hyper?ne sublevel correlation spectra were observed in the (+, +) quadrant, indicating that both 27Al and 11B are located in the second or higher order Nd3+ coordination shell. In addition, the fraction of the 11B nucleus present in the Nd3+ coordination sphere increased with an increase in the amount of B2O3. The continuous changes in the hypersensitive transition intensity and luminescence properties are strong indicators for the change in the Nd3+ coordination environment.

  • The effect of illuminance and correlated colour temperature on perceived comfort according to reading behaviour in a capsule hotel

    摘要: We investigated the effect of illuminance and correlated colour temperature (CCT) on the subjective evaluation of users' reading behaviour in a narrow space (i.e. a capsule hotel). Participants (N = 18; 15 men, 3 women; mean age = 21.9 years, SD = 0.4 years; age range = 21–23 years) were Japanese university students and graduate students. Experiments were conducted within four behavioural conditions that differed in six distinct illuminance (i.e. 150 lx and 300 lx) and CCT (i.e. 2800 K, 5000 K, and 6700 K) combinations. Because of the subjective evaluation of the space using the 7-level semantic differential method, participants did not experience pressure in the experimental space when it satisfied illumination standards. Sense of security was significantly influenced by CCT rather than illumination. Higher CCT was associated with higher spatial brightness. Lower CCT was associated with a higher sense of security, restfulness, and positive feelings. Brightness, sense of security, restfulness, feelings of fatigue, and concentration were all significantly impacted by the behavioural conditions. These findings suggest that providing a user-friendly and user-controlled lighting system will likely increase the satisfaction individuals experience when staying in a capsule room.

  • Sunlight Assisted Photocatalytic Degradation of Ciprofloxacin in Water Using Fe Doped ZnO Nanoparticles for Potential Public Health Applications

    摘要: Antibiotic residues in the aquatic environment have the potential to induce resistance in environmental bacteria, which ultimately might get transferred to pathogens making treatment of diseases difficult and poses a serious threat to public health. If antibiotic residues in the environment could be eliminated or reduced, it could contribute to minimizing antibiotic resistance. Towards this objective, water containing ciprofloxacin was treated by sunlight-assisted photocatalysis using Fe-doped ZnO nanoparticles for assessing the degradation potential of this system. Parameters like pH, temperature, catalytic dosage were assessed for the optimum performance of the system. To evaluate degradation of ciprofloxacin, both spectrophotometric as well as microbiological (loss of antibiotic activity) methods were employed. 100 mg/L Fe-doped ZnO nanoparticle catalyst and sunlight intensity of 120,000–135,000 lux system gave optimum performance at pH 9 at 30 °C and 40 °C. Under these conditions spectrophotometric analysis showed complete degradation of ciprofloxacin (10 mg/L) at 210 min. Microbiological studies showed loss of antibacterial activity of the photocatalytically treated ciprofloxacin-containing water against Staphylococcus aureus (108 CFU) in 60 min and for Escherichia coli (108 CFU) in 75 min. The developed system, thus possess a potential for treatment of antibiotic contaminated waters for eliminating/reducing antibiotic residues from environment.
