  • Two novel ESIPT benzothiazol derivatives and corresponding europium(Ⅲ) complexes: Synthesis and fluorescent properties

    摘要: Two ESIPT benzothiazol derivatives and corresponding europium complexes were synthesized and characterized by the 1HNMR spectrum, Mass spectrum, Elemental analysis, UV–Vis analysis, Molar conductivity, Thermogravimetric analysis and FTIR analysis. The fluorescence intensity of the ligands and complexes are compared, and the fluorescence quantum yields are also calculated by the reference method. The results show that two ligands emit orange fluorescence due to the ESIPT process, but both complexes emit red fluorescence after coordinating with Eu3+. Compared with the ligands, the fluorescence intensity and fluorescence quantum yield of the complexes are enhanced, and the monochromaticity is also improved. Because of the stable tetradentate coordination, the fluorescence intensity of EuL7(NO3)3·2H2O is the strongest, and the order of fluorescence intensity is EuL7(NO3)3·2H2O > EuL6(NO3)3·2H2O > Ligand 6 > Ligand 7, so does the fluorescence quantum yields. The electrochemical properties of the complexes show that the HOMO energy level of EuL7(NO3)3·2H2O is higher than that of EuL6(NO3)3·2H2O, but LUMO energy level is lower than that of EuL6(NO3)3·2H2O. These ligands and complexes have potential applications in the field of life sciences and optical materials.

  • Excellent ambipolar gas sensing response of Eu[Pc(OC4H9)8]2/acidified multiwalled carbon nanotubes hybrid at room temperature

    摘要: A new hybrid material has been developed by mixing a sandwich-type double-decker, Eu[Pc(OC4H9)8]2 = 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octabutoxyphthalocyaninate] with acidified multiwalled carbon nanotubes (aMWCNTs) through non-covalent interactions. The UV-vis spectrum, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope have been employed to reveal the J-aggregate mode and optimized morphology of Eu[Pc(OC4H9)8]2 molecules in the Eu[Pc(OC4H9)8]2/aMWCNTs hybrid material. The gas-sensing devices based on this hybrid material are fabricated by a simple solvent-processing quasi-Langmuir–Sh?fer (QLS) progress. The n-type and p-type response is shown by the Eu[Pc(OC4H9)8]2/aMWCNTs hybrid film at room temperature. The detection limit of the hybrid for ammonia and nitrogen dioxide gas is 0.5 ppm and 0.3 ppm, respectively.

  • Synthesis and photophysical properties of europium pentafluorinated β-diketonate complexes

    摘要: Two pentafluorinated β-diketone ligands, 4,4,5,5,5-pentafluoro-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)pentane-1,3-dione (PFMP) and 4,4,5,5,5-pentafluoro-1-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)pentane-1,3-dione (PFAP), had been employed to synthesize six novel europium (III) complexes with ancillary ligands 2,2-dipyridine, 1,10-phenanthroline and 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline. The synthesized europium (III) complexes were characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR, UV–Vis, luminescence spectroscopy, elemental analysis and thermogravimetric analysis. The photoluminescence spectra of these complexes showed the typical europium (III) red emissions in solid state and chloroform solution, assigned to 5D0 → 7Fj (j = 0–4) transitions. The higher values of intensity parameter Ω2 indicated that the europium ion was in a highly polarizable ligand field in these complexes. Europium (III) complexes with the β-diketone PFMP exhibited much better photoluminescence properties than complexes with the β-diketone PFAP. Especially, the europium (III) complex of the β-diketone PFMP with the auxiliary ligand 2,2-dipyridine displayed the longest lifetime value, the highest quantum yield and good CIE color coordinates matching the pure red color (x = 0.67, y = 0.33) in these complexes. In addition, the proposed energy transfer mechanisms and the thermal stability of these complexes were also investigated and analyzed.

  • Dinuclear Eu(III) complexes with macrocyclic tetraphosphine tetraoxide ligand and their photoluminescence properties

    摘要: Dinuclear Eu(III) complexes with macrocyclic tetraphosphine tetraoxide ligand (1, 5, 9, 13-Tetraphosphacyclohexadecane-1, 5, 9, 13-tetraphenyl-1, 5, 9, 13-tetraoxide) that keep the Eu(III) ions apart were synthesized and their photoluminescence properties were investigated. It was found that quantum yield of Eu(III) complex 2 in ethyl acetate was excellent (? =0.54) even at a large concentration (1×10?3 mol/l) and strong photoluminescence was obtained. Macrocyclic TPTO ligand has a function of a “separator” of Eu(III) ions that prevents concentration quenching in the Eu(III) complexes.
