A Smart Sensor Data Transmission Technique for Logistics and Intelligent Transportation Systems
摘要: When it comes to Internet of Things systems that include both a logistics system and an intelligent transportation system, a smart sensor is one of the key elements to collect useful information whenever and wherever necessary. This study proposes the Smart Sensor Node Group Management Medium Access Control Scheme designed to group smart sensor devices and collect data from them efficiently. The proposed scheme performs grouping of portable sensor devices connected to a system depending on the distance from the sink node and transmits data by setting different buffer thresholds to each group. This method reduces energy consumption of sensor devices located near the sink node and enhances the IoT system’s general energy efficiency. When a sensor device is moved and, thus, becomes unable to transmit data, it is allocated to a new group so that it can continue transmitting data to the sink node.

摘要: Quaternary logic is a four-valued logic. In quaternary logic, the gray level of the image is divided into more levels. This helps to increase the resolution and to decrease the quantization error of the image than that in binary logic representation. This improvement improvement of target detection, medical imaging, weather monitoring, environmental change detection, planetary and astrophysical imaging and other fields. There are different image inversions in quaternary logic, which are shown in this work. Besides this, successful image transmission through the bandwidth limited channel is also revealed in this work. The comparative study of Peak-Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) of the received image in this work shows better performance compared to other similar works.

HIGH IMPEDANCE PROPERTIES OF TWO-DIMENSIONAL COMPOSITE RIGHT/LEFT-HANDED TRANSMISSION LINES
摘要: The electromagnetic characteristics of two-dimensional composite right/left-handed transmission lines (2D CRLH TLs) were investigated for the normal incidence of plane waves. The measured characteristic impedance and re?ection phases exhibited resonant high impedance properties (equivalent to zero re?ection phase) at a frequency within the left-handed mode for one-dimensional CRLH TL. An equivalent circuit was proposed to explain the measured characteristics. The relationship between the resonant frequency and the circuit parameters for 2D CRLH TLs was clari?ed by deriving an approximate equation for the resonant frequency.

A MINIATURIZED BANDPASS FREQUENCY SELECTIVE SURFACE WITH HIGH SELECTIVITY BASE ON SLOT COUPLING
摘要: A Ku-band bandpass frequency selective surface (FSS) with high selectivity and miniaturization is proposed in this paper. We use two metallic strips and one slot to design the frequency selective surface structure which contains both electrical and magnetic couplings. A metallic via is introduced in the FSS element for miniaturization. With the via inserted at the end of the metallic strip, the FSS unit size is reduced to half compared to that without via inserted. To investigate the operating principle of the slot-coupled FSS, an equivalent-circuit model is given and analysed using the odd- and even-mode method. The constructed out-of-phase signal path causes two transmission zeros (TZs) near the skirts of the narrow pass band, thereby enhancing the selectivity. A prototype of the proposed FSS operating at 16 GHz is fabricated and measured. The measured results agree well with the full-wave and circuit simulation results, thus verifying the FSS design.

A NEW EQUAL POWER QUADRATURE BRANCH LINE COUPLER FOR DUAL-BAND APPLICATIONS
摘要: We present a new equal power quadrature branch line coupler (BLC) for dual-band applications in this paper. A new topology of the dual-band quarter wavelength transmission lines (TL) with the derivation of design equations is also introduced. The proposed BLC is designed using Advanced Design System (ADS) and fabricated on Rogers 5870 at 0.9 GHz and 2.4 GHz center frequencies. The design approach for the proposed dual-band BLC is endorsed by the simulated and measured results. A comparative analysis of this BLC with the previous BLCs is also carried out.

摘要: A semi-analytical method to design multilayer meander-line polarizers is described in this paper. The proposed procedure consists of a combination of the transmission line equivalent circuit and a Simulated Annealing Algorithm to estimate the best values of the dimensions of the polarizer. A wideband four layers’ meander-line polarizer [6 – 18 GHz] is studied. Patch antenna resonating at different frequencies is associated to the polarizer to validate it. The results verify that the proposed multilayer meander-line polarizer convert the Linear wave to Circular one.

摘要: In scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM), the imaging of atomic columns with a segmented detector has been developed to visualize the local electric field in a crystal. The imaging technique is based on the differential phase contrast (DPC) method, which detects the deflection of the electron beam due to the electric field. The DPC method has been applied to various materials, including semiconductors, metals, and insulators. In this study, we demonstrate the imaging of atomic columns in a SrTiO3 crystal using a segmented detector. The atomic columns are clearly resolved, and the local electric field is visualized. The results show that the DPC method is a powerful tool for studying the electric field in materials at the atomic scale.

Segmental <sup>13</sup> C-Labeling and Raman Microspectroscopy of α-Synuclein Amyloid Formation
摘要: Mapping conformational changes of a-synuclein (a-syn) from soluble, unstructured monomers to b-sheet-rich aggregates is crucial towards understanding amyloid formation. Raman microspectroscopy is now used to spatially resolve conformational heterogeneity of amyloid aggregates and monitor amyloid formation of segmentally 13C-labeled a-syn in real-time. As the 13C-isotope shifts the amide-I stretching frequency to lower energy, the ligated construct, 12CS87C–140-a-syn, exhibits two distinct bands allowing for simultaneous detection of secondary structural changes in N-terminal 1–86 and C-terminal 87–140 residues. The disordered-to-b-sheet conformational change is first observed for the N-terminal followed by the C-terminal region. Finally, Raman spectroscopic changes occurred prior to Thioflavin T fluorescence enhancement, indicating that the amide-I band is a superior probe of amyloid formation.

A simple amplitude decision based symbol timing synchronization method for real-time IMDD-OOFDM systems
摘要: A simple amplitude decision based symbol timing synchronization method for real-time IMDD-OOFDM transmission systems is proposed and experimentally evaluated by using directly modulated DFB laser in 25? km SSMF. The experimental results show that the hardware resource consumption of the proposed synchronization technique is only 6% of the total system which can effectively release the computation complexity without sacri- ficing the synchronization accuracy. Less than 2 samples offset error of synchronization accuracy can be achieved at received optical power as low as ? 20?dBm without employing correlation and multiplication operations.

OSNR monitoring technique based on multi-order statistical moment method and correlation function for PM-16QAM in presence of fiber nonlinearities
摘要: We propose an improved optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) monitoring technique in presence of optical fiber nonlinearity-induced distortions, in which traditional multi-order statistical moments based (MOSMB) OSNR monitoring method is corrected by a calibration factor α and correlation functions between neighboring received symbols. This OSNR monitoring technique is performed for the first time in a 224-Gb/s polarization-multiplexed quadrature amplitude modulation (PM-16QAM) system. We explore relationships between α, transmission distances and channel launch powers for further convenient usage considerations. The proposed monitoring technique shows much better performances than existing OSNR monitoring techniques in highly nonlinear systems, where OSNR estimation errors are below 1dB with actual OSNR ranging 18-28dB and the channel launch powers reach as highly as 4dBm and the transmission distances are up to 2000km. Besides, this proposed technique is applicable to different modulation formats and corresponding performances are compared.
