Modified variable step incremental-conductance MPPT technique for photovoltaic system
摘要: Maximum power point (MPP) Tracking, which is usually referred as MPPT, is a setup that forces the photovoltaic (PV) module to operate in such a way that the PV module will yield the maximum power, which in turn depend upon the solar illumination and surrounding temperature. Amidst all the MPPT designs, perturb & observe and incremental conductance (INC) algorithms are mostly selected due to easy implementation and good tracking credibility. The conventional MPPTs based on fixed step size give less power output and at every step tracking is required for new location due to random variation is a tedious job. In this paper the variable step size INC-MPPT technique is proposed which automatically tracks the next step size to maximize the power output. The comprehensive comparison is presented using MATLAB/SIMULINK between conventional and improved MPPT.

[IEEE 2019 16th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD) - Istanbul, Turkey (2019.3.21-2019.3.24)] 2019 16th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD) - MPPT Control Strategies for Photovoltaic Applications: Algorithms and Comparative Analysis
摘要: In this paper, five Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithms for PV system are presented, simulated and discussed. Solar Photovoltaic energy has become a popular device of the renewable energies. The power-voltage (P-V) characteristic of PV cells is naturally nonlinear dependent of insolation and temperature degrees. Accordingly, the maximum power point change with the atmospheric conditions. In order to ameliorate the overall efficiency, a control technique for the duty cycle of the DC/DC power converter is required. The aim of this paper is to present a thorough assessment of various MPPT techniques. Five different methods are discussed which are: the Perturbation-Observation (P&O) method, the Incremental Conductance (INC) method, the Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC), the Neural Network control (NNC) and the Sliding mode control (SMC). These algorithms are modeled and simulated with a specific PV chain consisting of a 50W PV panel and a Boost converter in order to evaluate their performances.

Reduced Current Sensor Based Solar PV Fed Motion Sensorless Induction Motor Drive for Water Pumping
摘要: This paper proposes a solar photovoltaic (PV) array fed induction motor (IM) drive operated water pumping system with an speed adaptive estimator. It focuses on the implementation of a space vector modulation (SVM) of voltage source inverter (VSI) without current sensors. The motor phase currents are estimated from the DC link current. The VSI is used for maximum power tracking and to drive an IM. A generalized integrator based flux adaptation approach is used to improve the drive performance. Moreover, a modified model reference adaptive system (MRAS) based speed estimation with rotor fluxes and stationary frame currents enhances its stability throughout the operating range. A modified algorithm based on incremental-conductance (InC) is proposed for maximum power point (MPP), which is used for peak power tracking at each insolation with a technique to control flow-rate. The overall system incorporating a single-stage PV powered space vector modulation (SVM) based VSI fed IM driven water pump is modeled and its performance is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink environment. The appropriateness of proposed system is verified experimentally on a prototype developed in the laboratory under various operating conditions.
