摘要: Induction motors are commonly used in industries due to its reduced cost and minimum maintenance. In this proposed system induction motor is used for the purpose of solar based water pumping application. As the energy consumption is increasing, the energy generated is alone is not able to supply the entire load requirement. Among the available renewable energy sources, solar energy is the leading one. The work proposes a three-phase four-switch inverter for photovoltaic (PV) water pumping or treatment systems. The use of batteries can be avoided, since the converter used in this proposed work is two inductor boost converter. By considering the economic factor and life span of the device, electro-chemical storage elements are avoided. Also an effective intelligent hill climbing algorithmis used to extract maximum power from PV cell. The use of a three- phase induction motor is a better solution to the dc motor for water pumping application.

摘要: This paper presents an improved designed induction motor, used for photovoltaic (PV) array fed water pumping system. The overall system is designed without a mechanical sensor to reduce both cost and complexity with simultaneous assurance of optimum power utilization of a PV array. The proposed system consists of an induction motor operated water pump, controlled by field-oriented control (FOC) with artificial neural network (ANN) current control technique. The MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) as well as DC link voltage, is regulated by three-phase voltage source inverter (VSI). The estimation of motor speed eliminates the use of mechanical sensor and makes the system cheaper and robust. A new robust speed adaptive algorithm is presented, which is less dependent on parameters. A detailed study of various factors affecting the efficiency of the motor, is given to improve the behavior of the induction motor drive (IMD) for water pumping. The designed motor is tested on the developed prototype in the laboratory and its suitability is judged through various results under steady state and dynamic conditions of insolation variations.

摘要: This paper presents a solar power based three-level neutral clamped inverter (3LNCI) fed induction motor drive (IMD) with space vector modulation based direct torque and flux control (DTFC-SVM) for the water pumping applications. Due to the robustness and the flexible operating characteristics, induction motor is most suitable for water pump system. A DC/DC boost converter along with perturb and observe method of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control technique is employed to draw sophisticated power from the solar photovoltaic (PV) array. The DTFC-SVM of an IMD using 3LNCI is proposed for improving performance and reducing the ripple contents of torque, flux and stator currents. The proposed method is simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment and simulated results are presented under various operating conditions.

摘要: Induction motor drive is the backbone of industrial societies. It also finds its application in Electrical vehicles. It is extensively required in rural areas for agricultural purposes, pumping drinking water, and in a water treatment process. Moreover, the necessity of switching from conventional means of generating energy to renewable methods has become the order of the day owing to its prime advantages of non-polluting nature and economic reasons. Hence, this paper addresses the implementation of a high efficient soft switched Snubber Assisted Zero Voltage and Zero Current (SAZZ) converter topology, integrated with a photovoltaic source, to power a three-phase Induction motor through three-phase inverter. Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) scheme is used for controlling the operation of the inverter employed. Variable frequency controller is utilized to control the speed of the Induction motor at a user defined value, in the midst of changing load conditions. Realization of the proposed work is carried out in Matlab atmosphere. The simulated results of the suggested work are compared with the Boost converter to validate the enriched response of the SAZZ converter.

摘要: This paper presents a comparison between two photovoltaic water pumping system driven by a separately excited DC motor (DCM) and an induction motor (IM), via a DC/DC buck-boost converter coupled to a centrifugal pump. The two systems are optimised by a P&O MPPT algorithm, which aims to the maximisation of the global efficiency, will lead consequently to maximize the drive speed and the water discharge rate of the coupled centrifugal pump. Each component of the PV water pumping system is studied and analyzed in MATLAB/SIMULINK. The two systems are then compared in terms of efficiency and quantity of water pumped per day. The study concludes that the IM-driven PV system yields highly favorable results and requires less maintenance compared with other systems.

摘要: The present paper deals with a speed sensorless technique of vector controlled induction motor drive fed from solar PV (Photovoltaic) array used for water pumping. This sensorless technique is based stator flux oriented in stationary reference frame. The special feature of the proposed topology is the additional feedforward loop added to the existing vector control loop, which makes it decoupled as a key feature of vector control. The mechanical sensorless induction motor drive is powered by solar photovoltaic (SPV) array to be utilized to drive the submersible water pump. The simulation of proposed topology is performed in MATLAB/Simulink environment and its performance is validated on test setup developed in the laboratory.

摘要: In recent years, solar photovoltaic systems have become more popular and today, this technology has become the application of interest mainly in isolated areas where the power grid is not accessible. Generally, PV fed dc motors are used because of their robust construction and ease to control. However, dc motors need to be frequently maintained due to its commutator and carbon brush. Hence in this paper, centrifugal pump driven by three-phase induction motor is considered. To power the three-phase induction motor, a three-phase voltage source inverter is used which performs two functions, viz., (i) converts the Maximum Power-Point dc voltage into three-phase ac voltage (ii) changes the frequency of the three-phase ac voltage and helps the system to guide at the Maximum Power Point.

Reduced Current Sensor Based Solar PV Fed Motion Sensorless Induction Motor Drive for Water Pumping
摘要: This paper proposes a solar photovoltaic (PV) array fed induction motor (IM) drive operated water pumping system with an speed adaptive estimator. It focuses on the implementation of a space vector modulation (SVM) of voltage source inverter (VSI) without current sensors. The motor phase currents are estimated from the DC link current. The VSI is used for maximum power tracking and to drive an IM. A generalized integrator based flux adaptation approach is used to improve the drive performance. Moreover, a modified model reference adaptive system (MRAS) based speed estimation with rotor fluxes and stationary frame currents enhances its stability throughout the operating range. A modified algorithm based on incremental-conductance (InC) is proposed for maximum power point (MPP), which is used for peak power tracking at each insolation with a technique to control flow-rate. The overall system incorporating a single-stage PV powered space vector modulation (SVM) based VSI fed IM driven water pump is modeled and its performance is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink environment. The appropriateness of proposed system is verified experimentally on a prototype developed in the laboratory under various operating conditions.
