Image acquisition device of inspection robot based on adaptive rotation regulation of polarizer
摘要: An image processing device of inspection robot with adaptive polarization adjustment is proposed, that the device includes the inspection robot body, the image collecting mechanism, the polarizer and the polarizer automatic actuating device. Where, the image acquisition mechanism is arranged at the front of the inspection robot body for collecting equipment image data in the substation. Polarizer is fixed on the automatic actuating device of polarizer, and installed in front of the image acquisition mechanism, and that the optical axis of the camera vertically goes through the polarizer and the polarizer rotates with the optical axis of the visible camera as the central axis. The simulation results show that the system solves the fuzzy problems of the equipment that are caused by glare, reflection of light and shadow, and the robot can observe details of the running status of electrical equipment. And the full coverage of the substation equipment inspection robot observation target is achieved, which ensures the safe operation of the substation equipment.

Image-Alignment Based Matching for Irregular Contour Defects Detection
摘要: Automatic defect inspection is attractive for high-quality workpiece manufacturing with irregular contours in order to achieve high accuracy and no contour defect. Thus, a novel image alignment-based feature matching algorithm framework is proposed in this paper. It can be used to solve the specified pixel-level defect detection and location problems for workpieces with irregular contours. A new forensic hash is firstly generated by extracting the scale, position and main orientation information of feature points. Since the forensic hash is invariant to rotation, translation and scaling, it is used for feature matching. A feature matching method based on a robust cascade estimator is secondly proposed to establish an accurate correspondence between the test image and reference image according to the obtained image hash and a parameter space voting mechanism. Thirdly, the matched feature points are used to estimate the similar transformation parameters to achieve an accurate image alignment. Finally, image difference and morphological technique are used to locate the contour defect. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can effectively detect and locate small contour defects in irregular stamping workpieces.

摘要: In this paper, an automatic reading system for analog instruments has been designed for monitoring in power plants. In a general automatic reading system, there are many limitations to the reading correctness and system robustness such as the high cost for the reason that there is only one instrument could be monitored by a single system, the strict restrict of the camera angle, and being not suitable for instruments with dense scales and so on. We present some solutions to overcome these limitations. Firstly, we combine a mobile inspection robot with an image capture device and the image processing method to cut the cost of the monitoring of analog instruments in power plants. Then, we use Hough transform and perspective transform to correct the geometric distortion of images caused by camera angle. Eventually, we get the result of dense scaled instruments based on polar transform. Experiments show that our system performs quite well, and the reading error is less than the results which obtained from the general automatic reading system.

摘要: Network Function Virtualization (NFV) replaces the hardware that supports packet processing in network operation from specific- by general-purpose ones, reducing costs and bringing more flexibility and agility to the network operation. However, this shift can cause performance losses due to the non-optimal packet processing capabilities of the general-purpose hardware. Moreover, supporting the line rate of optical network channels with Virtualized Network Functions (VNFs) is a challenging task. This work analyzes the benefits of using Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) to support the execution of a Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) VNF towards supporting the line rate of an optical channel. The use of GPUs in VNFs has a great potential to increase throughput, but the delay incurred might be an issue for some functions. Our simulation was performed using an Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) which performs DPI deployed as a VNF under real-world traffic scaled to high bit rates. Results show that the packet processing speedup achieved by using GPUs can reach up to 19 times, at the expense of a higher packet delay.

A novel algorithm for tool wear online inspection based on machine vision
摘要: To inspect the tool wear condition in the process of numerical control (NC) machining for difficult-to-cut material, an online inspection system for tool wear is developed based on machine vision. With the help of MATLAB software, a self-matching algorithm is proposed according to the characteristics of tool wear images. The corresponding user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) of the algorithm is developed. The bottom edges are separated by the adaptive connecting domain labeling to analyze wear condition of each edge. Then, each edge is arranged regularly by the improved rotatory positioning. The cutting edge is extracted by the method of partial angle threshold to fit and calculate the bottom wear value. It is shown that the absolute values of errors on the maximum wear width are less than 0.007 mm by using the self-matching algorithm. In the case of severe wear and breakage, the absolute values of errors on the maximum wear width are less than 0.057 mm because of uneven reflected light. The system features high response speed, high inspecting accuracy, and anti-noise performance. It is proved to be able to increase the utilization of cutting tools and guarantee the quality of workpiece. This method is potential to guarantee the reliability of cutting tool in aerospace manufacturing.

Detection of Delaminations in Sunlight-Unexposed Concrete Elements of Bridges Using Infrared Thermography
摘要: Infrared thermography is a non-destructive test used in the inspection of structures. However, its use for bridge inspection is still under development and in many cases its application may be limited to bridge sections exposed to direct sunlight. This study aims to evaluate infrared thermography test for the detection of delaminations in different types of concrete not exposed directly to sunlight. The experimental methodology uses two concrete specimens with water/cement ratios (w/c) equal to 0.5 and 0.6, through the insertion of polystyrene plates of different thicknesses (3, 6 and 12 mm) and depths (25, 50 and 75 mm), in order to simulate defects within the concrete and evaluate the capacity of infrared thermography to detect them. The results show that detection is possible, but limited to short periods of time. In relation to the concrete quality, defects were more easily detected in the test specimen with lower w/c ratio. It can be said that the nearer to the surface and larger the delamination, the easier it is to detect. Also, the better the quality of the concrete, the more effective the technique becomes.

Residual Stress Image Inspections based on Bending Testing for Flexible Transparent Conducting Substrates by Single-direction Common-path Image Interferometry
摘要: This paper proposes a method for automatic inspection of residual stress images based on bending testing for flexible transparent conducting substrates. A flexible characteristics inspection system with single-direction common-path image interferometry is utilized to inspect residual stress images automatically during the bending testing operation. Accordingly, a 5×5 cm2 residual stress image of a 203-μm line pattern on a conducting indium tin oxide (ITO) film deposited on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate with up to 11,000 bending cycles is inspected and analyzed. The relationship between the residual stresses and resistance characteristics of the 203-μm line pattern on the ITO-deposited-on-PET substrate based on bending testing is also analyzed. It was found that the change results of residual stress can predict the resistance characteristics of the ITO-deposited-on-PET substrate sufficiently. Therefore, the inspection results of residual stress images depicted on flexible electronics may help designers and manufacturers to develop products and ensure quality control, respectively, in a manufacturing process.

摘要: An automated based-vision quality inspection system for wheel-disc is presented in this paper in order to achieve nondestructive and fast defect detection method. The system captures images of wheel-disc which is located on a backlight device. Using these image data, holes in wheel-disc image are detected by ellipse detection algorithm. After that the size and positions of holes on real wheel-disc can be obtained in real time. Experimental results show that although the proposed system is fairly simple, it achieves high accuracy and reliability for wheel disc defect detection.

In-water visual ship hull inspection using a hover-capable underwater vehicle with stereo vision
摘要: Underwater visual inspection is an important task for checking the structural integrity and biofouling of the ship hull surface to improve the operational safety and efficiency of ships and floating vessels. This paper describes the development of an autonomous in‐water visual inspection system and its application to visual hull inspection of a full‐scale ship. The developed system includes a hardware vehicle platform and software algorithms for autonomous operation of the vehicle. The algorithms for vehicle autonomy consist of the guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for real‐time and onboard operation of the vehicle around the hull surface. The environmental perception of the developed system is mainly based on optical camera images, and various computer vision and optimization algorithms are used for vision‐based navigation and visual mapping. In particular, a stereo camera is installed on the underwater vehicle to estimate instantaneous surface normal vectors, which enables high‐precision navigation and robust visual mapping, not only on flat areas but also over moderately curved hull surface areas. The development process of the vehicle platform and the implemented algorithms are described. The results of the field experiment with a full‐scale ship in a real sea environment are presented to demonstrate the feasibility and practical performance of the developed system.

摘要: Taking x-ray images goes back over 100 years. Since then, there have been numerous advances in x-ray technology and these have been increasingly applied in helping the manufacturing of electronic components and assemblies, as well as in their failure analysis. Most recently, this has been rapidly driven by the reduction in device and feature size and the movement to using newer, lower density materials within the structures, such as copper wire replacing gold wire as the interconnection material of choice within components. Another driver for developments is the engineering of single 3D packages with multiple chips stacked vertically one on top of the other, which results in smaller and more efficient packaging of devices. In order to meet these challenges and those in the future, there have been a number of recent key improvements to the vital components within x-ray systems. The choice of available technologies, however, means selecting the tube/detector combination, which is optimum for a particular electronics inspection application, is no longer so clear-cut. For example, one configuration may provide certain benefits that are applicable for one area of electronics inspection, whilst being less valid for others. This paper will review the various x-ray tube and detector types that are available and explain the implications of these choices for electronics inspection in terms of what they provide regarding image resolution, magnification, tube power, detector pixel size and the effects of detector radiation damage, amongst others. This paper will also look in detail at the capabilities of high end CT systems to inspect wafer bumps, copper pillars and TSV’s, new designs are reducing key dimensions of all of these interconnections challenging x-ray systems to produce clear images.
