A Robust Depth Image Based Rendering Scheme for Stereoscopic View Synthesis with Adaptive Domain Transform Based Filtering Framework
摘要: Depth image based rendering (DIBR), which is utilized to render virtual views with a color image and the corresponding depth map, is one of the key procedures in the 2D to 3D conversion process. However, some troubling problems, such as depth edge misalignment, disocclusion occurrences and cracks at resampling, still exist in current DIBR systems. To solve these problems, in this paper, we present a robust depth image based rendering scheme for stereoscopic view synthesis. The cores of the proposed scheme are two depth map filters which share a common domain transform based filtering framework. As a first step, a filter of this framework is carried out to realize texture-depth boundary alignments and directional disocclusion reduction smoothing simultaneously. Then after depth map 3D warping, another adaptive filter is used on the warped depth maps with delivered scene gradient structures to further diminish the remaining cracks and noises. Finally, with the optimized depth map of the virtual view, backward texture warping is adopted to retrieve the final texture virtual view. The proposed scheme enables to yield visually satisfactory results for high quality 2D to 3D conversion. Experimental results demonstrate the excellent performances of the proposed approach.

KNN-Based Representation of Superpixels for Hyperspectral Image Classification
摘要: Superpixel segmentation has been demonstrated to be a powerful tool in hyperspectral image (HSI) classification. Each superpixel region can be regarded as a homogeneous region, which is composed of a series of spatial neighboring pixels. However, a superpixel region may contain the pixels from different classes. To further explore the optimal representations of superpixels, a new framework based on two k selection rules is proposed to find the most representative training and test samples. The proposed method consists of the following four steps: first, a superpixel segmentation algorithm is performed on the HSI to cluster the pixels with similar spectral features into the same superpixel. Then, a domain transform recursive filtering is used to extract the spectral–spatial features of the HSI. Next, the k nearest neighbor (KNN) method is utilized to select k1 representative training samples and k2 test pixels for each superpixel, which can effectively overcome the within-class variations and between-class interference, respectively. Finally, the class label of superpixels can be determined by measuring the averaged distances among the selected training and test samples. Experiments conducted on four real hyperspectral datasets show that the proposed method provides competitive classification performances with respect to several recently proposed spectral–spatial classification methods.

K-domain transform based three-dimensional microscopy
摘要: A K-domain transform based three-dimensional microscopy technique is proposed. By illuminating an object with a light sheet along the optical axis and recording the complex amplitude, including the modulus and the phase (or wave-front) of the re?ected light in the epi-direction, the structure of the illuminated slice of the specimen can be clearly reconstructed by transforming the re?ected light from the vertical plane to the axial plane. While the principle of this proposed technique is theoretically illustrated, its feasibility is veri?ed both numerically and experimentally. Because the illuminating and collecting optics comprise a coaxial imaging system, the proposed technique can achieve high-speed and high-resolution three-dimensional imaging with a simple optical setup, which can be realized using a common commercial microscope with only slight modi?cation.
