High-Speed Light Signal Transmitters for Optical Communication Based on Ultraviolet Radiation
摘要: A light signal transmitter based on ultraviolet radiation is realized on GaN-on-silicon platform. The light signal transmitter with ultra-small active area is fabricated by a double-etching process. The absolute value of negative junction capacitance of transmitter is as low as the pF (picofarads) scale in positive bias voltage. Small capacitance is bene?cial to improve the communication performance of a transmitter. The dominant EL (electroluminescence) peak of transmitter is located at about 380 nm in the ultraviolet range. With the increase of the current, the dominant peak of transmitter remains stable and the light output power is lineally modulated. A free-space data transmission test in the ultraviolet range with 250 Mbps was conducted to indicate a promising high-speed optical communication capability of a light signal transmitter in the ultraviolet range.

Brain Photobiomodulation—Preliminary Results from Regional Cerebral Oximetry and Thermal Imaging
摘要: A new piece of equipment for LED (light emitting diode) brain photobiomodulation is introduced. Preliminary results from regional cerebral oxygen saturation and from thermography are shown before, during and after stimulation. The procedure offers a new way to quantify the biological effects of a possible innovative therapeutic method. However further measurements are absolutely necessary.

摘要: The paper proposed a novel switched capacitor based high gain quadratic DC-DC boost converter with Perturb & Observe MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controller. The converter configuration is appropriate to be employed in fuel cell and solar photovoltaic systems. The presented converter topology is designed with solar powered switched capacitor based voltage lift technique to provide high voltage conversion ratio. Due to variable atmospheric conditions it’s very difficult to provide constant output to the LED (Light Emitting Diode) load. Even small change in the characteristics of LED that will effect to damage the load. Hence P&O (Perturb & Observe) MPPT controller is applying for the designed converter configuration in order to produce stable output with high gain under variable weather conditions. Due to high step up gain and symmetrical configuration of the circuit topology, the stress voltage across the power semiconductor devices is low. Hence, the metal oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor gives high performance with low ON state resistance. The design cost of the circuit is reduces because of using low voltage rating diodes. Also reverse recovery and conduction losses are low which improves the power conversion and efficiency of the converter. The principle of operation and steady state analysis of the circuit topology are conferred in detail. Finally a simulation experiment of proposed converter with 120Watts of LED load is simulated and verified with theoretical analysis.

Arduino Based Traffic Light System With Integrated LED Advertising Display
摘要: Rapid advancement in scientific knowledge and growth in worldwide economic activities has led to a steep rise in the volume of vehicular activity for human and product mobility controls hence in addition to controllers are, therefore, a critical necessity of the modern – day society. Toward this end, this paper is aimed toward the design of microcontroller-based traffic control device taking as a case study the complex layout and linkage among the service roads of the Senate building and College of Science and Technology, Covenant University, Nigeria. The Arduino platform is the microcontroller preference for this idea. Also, to make this idea more effective and productive, a Light Emitting Diode (LED) advertising displays has been incorporated into its implementation to take advantage of the red light wait time to disseminate useful information or facts.
