  • OVERMOS —?CMOS Hi-Res MAPS detectors for HEP applications

    摘要: The OVERMOS project investigates the use of Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors, fabricated using a standard low voltage, high resistivity substrate 180 nm CMOS technology, for tracking and vertexing in HEP applications. Following a description of the main features of this CMOS technology, details will be given of the design of the OVERMOS test pixel structures, which include active pixels, with in-pixel RO electronics, and basic pixel arrays. Preliminary experimental results of fabricated test structures, which include charge collection, obtained using in-pixel laser injection, and comparison of performances before and after neutron irradiation will be shown. Results of 3D TCAD simulation related to charge collection and DC characteristics of the pixel structures will be also shown.

    摘要: This paper proposes a new neural approach for supervised change detection in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images using Training Data Generation based on Concurrent Self-Organizing Maps (TDG-CSOM). The proposed model is based on the idea to substitute the authentically labeled sample set with the virtual training data generated by the CSOM system. The proposed change detection algorithm has the following processing stages: (a) TDG-CSOM; (b) Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) classifier training using the virtual dataset obtained by TDG-CSOM; (c) concatenation of the corresponding pixels belonging to the SAR bi-temporal image; (d) MLP classification to obtain the change map. The proposed method is implemented and evaluated using a TerraSAR-X image acquired in the Fukushima region, Japan, before and after tsunami. The experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

  • Dose and Single Event Effects on a Color CMOS Camera for Space Exploration

    摘要: This paper focuses on the radiation-induced dose and single event effects on a color CMOS camera designed for space missions. Gamma-ray and protons are used to evaluate the tolerance against cumulative dose effects. The dark current of the image sensor is the main parameter impacted by dose effects. Heavy ions testing is performed to evaluate single event effects. SEU, SEFI and SEL have been observed and mitigation techniques were proposed for specific space missions.

  • NUMERICAL INVESTIGATION ON THE SPECTRAL PROPERTIES OF ONE-DIMENSIONAL TRIADIC-CANTOR QUASI-PERIODIC STRUCTURE

    摘要: We numerically investigate the optical spectra of a photonic band gap material realized by one-dimensional Triadic-Cantor quasi-periodic structure. The studied system is composed of two elementary layers H and L with refractive indices nL = 1.45 (SiO2) and nH = 2.3 (T iO2), respectively. Analytical calculations using a trace and antitrace maps approach have been used to ?nd the re?ection and transmission theoretical expressions in visible range under quarter wavelength condition. In our results we present the e?ect of iteration order of Triadic-Cantor sequence on the optical properties of these multilayer systems, namely the photonic band gap behavior and the optical windows presence, which makes this type of structures good candidates for interesting applications in the ?eld of the nano-optical Engineering.

  • [IEEE IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium - Valencia (2018.7.22-2018.7.27)] IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium - Snow Cover Monitoring in Hardangervidda and Sierra Nevada Protected Areas by using Sentinel-L Time Series

    摘要: This paper presents first results of a snow cover detection algorithm applied to high resolution Sentine-1 images of two different mountainous protected areas: the Hardangervidda National Park (Norway), and the Sierra Nevada National Park (Spain). The products have been compared with the snow maps generated by using Sentinel-2 acquisitions taken on the same or closest day as the SAR images. This work highlighted issues that require further investigation to improve the snow cover detection in areas characterized by a complex topography, climate and land cover. High quality SAR snow products are very much desirable to be used together with less frequent optical snow products, aiming at a continuous monitoring of protected areas.
