  • ZnO/porous carbon composite from a mixed-ligand MOF for ultrasensitive electrochemical immunosensing of C-reactive protein

    摘要: Carbon-based nano-composite materials obtained via simple thermolysis of metal-organic framework (MOF) have competitive virtues in accordance of layered porosity, controllable morphologies, and easily functionalizing with other metal/metallic oxides or hetero atoms. These make them directly as high activity catalysts or supports for various electrochemical sensor. Herein, we developed a novel ZnO/porous carbon matrix (ZnO/MPC)-based electrochemical immunosensing through thermolysis of a mixed-ligand MOF (Zn-BDC-TED) for real sample analysis of C-reactive protein. The ZnO/MPC and ionic liquid (IL) composite membrane modified electrode displayed prominent conductivity and biocompatibility for ultrasensitive detection of C-reactive protein (CRP). Subsequently, the step-by-step assembly process of the CRP immunosensor was monitored by electrochemical measurements including cyclic voltammogram (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS). After the parameter optimization, the differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) response decreased linearly with the logarithm of CRP levels in an extensive range of 0.01–1000 ng·mL?1, and the detection limit was as low as 5.0 pg·mL?1. Meanwhile, the lable-free immunosensor also showed excellent selectivity, reproducibility and stability. We believe that ZnO/MPC composite and many carbon-based nano-composite materials obtained via simple thermolysis of MOF will be a prospective platform for sensitive detecting other biomarkers.

  • A Dual-Discrete Model Predictive Control-based MPPT for PV systems

    摘要: This paper presents a method that overcomes the problem of the confusion during fast irradiance change in the classical MPPTs as well as in model predictive control (MPC)-based MPPTs available in the literature. The previously introduced MPC-based MPPTs take into account the model of the converter only, which make them prone to the drift during fast environmental conditions. Therefore, the model of the PV array is also considered in the proposed algorithm, which allows it to be prompt during rapid environmental condition changes. It takes into account multiple previous samples of power, and based on that is able to take the correct tracking decision when the predicted and measured power differ (in case of drift issue). After the tracking decision is taken, it will be sent to a second part of the algorithm as a reference. The second part is used for following the reference provided by the first part, where the pulses are sent directly to the converter, without a modulator or a linear controller. The proposed technique is validated experimentally by using a buck converter, fed by a PV simulator. The tracking efficiency is evaluated according to EN50530 standard in static and dynamic conditions. The experimental results show that the proposed MPC-MPPT is a quick and accurate tracker under very fast changing irradiance, while maintaining high tracking efficiency even under very low irradiance.

  • A hybrid output multiport converter for standalone loads and photovoltaic array integration

    摘要: Multiport converters (MPCs) are relatively recent power converter structures, which bestow the merits such as the omission of redundant power stages, centralized control, compact packaging, enhanced efficiency, improved reliability, and so on and have larger potential in domestic applications. They have the ability to amalgamate energy sources such as photovoltaic (PV) sources and battery storages, and can accommodate hybrid (ac and dc) domestic loads (bulbs, fans, induction stoves, and electric bike chargers). Hence, they can replace the conventional off-line uninterruptible power supplies, which are habitually used in domestic applications. The unique feature of MPCs is the ability to transfer the power between multiple sources and loads concurrently/independently. This article proposes cascaded sources switched tapping multi-level DC-link inverter (CSSTMLDCLI) involved hybrid loads MPC, which can integrate PV sources and feed above mentioned hybrid domestic loads. The involved novel seven level multilevel inverter structure, the CSSTMLDCLI has reduced component count to offer a high quality ac output, while the dc output is synthesized by a forward converter structure. The working principle of the CSSTMLDCLI along with the systematic design procedure is presented. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed converter are ratified through both MATLAB? Simulink R2016a simulation and the experimentation for a typical solar, battery, and grid supported domestic power backup. The system is managed for a lesser energy purchase using a developed minimal grid usage energy management system, which is implemented using ALTERA QUARTUS II 12.0SP2, field-programmable gate array processor.

  • MPC Algorithm With Reduced Computational Burden and Fixed Switching Spectrum for a Multilevel Inverter in a Photovoltaic System

    摘要: Renewable energy has gained significant attention of researchers in the last years, mainly due to the importance of using unlimited energy sources to supply homes, industries, cities and countries. In this context, this document focuses on the solar injection by employing a neutral point clamped (NPC) topology together with utilization of a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and space vector modulation (SVM) techniques. Model predictive control (MPC) is employed to manage the currents and track their references. The proposed algorithms do not employ a cost function to decide which voltage to apply resulting in a spread frequency spectrum, and instead, a concentrated SVM spectrum is imposed. Notwithstanding, the DC link capacitors voltage balance is ensured and the computational burden is notably reduced as compared to traditional Finite Set Model Predictive Control (FS-MPC). Nevertheless, the consistent results are a consequence of the critical analysis that shows the feasibility of the proposal and guarantees the good performance of the entire system in simulated and experimental platforms.

  • A Soft-switched, Multiport Photovoltaic Power Optimizer with Integrated Storage Interface and Output Voltage Regulation

    摘要: This paper proposed a multiport converter (MPC) configuration for photovoltaic (PV)-battery system. In the battery charging and discharging circuits are integrated with the PV power optimizer through high frequency AC link. The proposed converter system is capable of regulating the output voltage, following battery charging profile and tracking the maximum power point (MPP) of each PV module. Variable switching frequency is used to achieve MPPT in this design. All the switches of the converter are able to achieve soft-switching turn on and turn off at different operating conditions. The operating principles and the control strategy of the proposed converter are presented. Simulation results and experimental results on a 175W system are presented to validate the features of the proposed converter.

  • Performance evaluation of a MPPT controller with model predictive control for a photovoltaic system

    摘要: Efficiency has been a major factor in the growth of photovoltaic (PV) systems. Different control techniques have been explored to extract maximum power from PV systems under varying environmental conditions. This paper evaluates the performance of a new improved control technique known as model predictive control (MPC) in power extraction from PV systems. Exploiting the ability of MPC to predict future state of controlled variables, MPC has been implemented for tacking of maximum power point (MPP) of a PV system. Application of MPC for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) has been found to result into faster tracking of MPP under continuously varying atmospheric conditions providing an efficient system. It helps in reducing unwanted oscillations with an increase in tracking speed. A detailed step by step process of designing a model predictive controller has been discussed. Here, MPC has been applied in conjunction with conventional perturb and observe (P&O) method for controlling the dc-dc boost converter switching, harvesting maximum power from a PV array. The results of MPC controller has been compared with two widely used conventional methods of MPPT, viz. incremental conductance method and P&O method. The MPC controller scheme has been designed, implemented and tested in MATLAB/Simulink environment and has also been experimentally validated using a laboratory prototype of a PV system.

    摘要: This paper presents an online image-based visual servoing (IBVS) controller for a 6-degrees-of-freedom (DOF) robotic system based on the robust model predictive control (RMPC) method. The controller is designed considering the robotic visual servoing system’s input and output constraints, such as robot physical limitations and visibility constraints. The proposed IBVS controller avoids the inverse of the image Jacobian matrix and hence can solve the intractable problems for the classical IBVS controller, such as large displacements between the initial and the desired positions of the camera. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, real-time experimental results on a 6-DOF robot manipulator with eye-in-hand configuration are presented and discussed.

    摘要: Model predictive control (MPC) has been widely advocated as a design strategy for many aspects of industrial electronics. The methodology has been strongly promoted by some researchers but has also attracted criticism from others. In this context, the purpose of this paper is twofold. First, we show that many existing and popular control strategies, including finite set MPC and linear controllers [proportional integral, proportional resonant (PR)], can be viewed as special cases of MPC. Second, we show that the predictive control framework allows one to embellish these classical control architectures with novel features and to design new and advanced control architectures to address various challenges posed by power electronics applications. The findings of the paper are supported by a practical example of designing of a novel form of PR controller with superior tracking performance and delay compensation, confirmed via simulation and experiments.
