  • Formation of Hierarchical FeCoS2a??CoS2 Doublea??Shelled Nanotubes with Enhanced Performance for Photocatalytic Reduction of CO2

    摘要: Hierarchical FeCoS2-CoS2 double-shelled nanotubes have been rationally designed and constructed for efficient photocatalytic CO2 reduction under visible light. The synthetic strategy, engaging the two-step cation-exchange reactions, precisely integrates two metal sulfides into a double-shelled tubular heterostructure with both of the shells assembled from ultrathin two-dimensional (2D) nanosheets. Benefiting from the distinctive structure and composition, the FeCoS2-CoS2 hybrid can reduce bulk-to-surface diffusion length of photoexcited charge carriers to facilitate their separation. Furthermore, this hybrid structure can expose abundant active sites for enhancing CO2 adsorption and surface-dependent redox reactions, and harvest incident solar irradiation more efficiently by light scattering in the complex interior. As a result, these hierarchical FeCoS2-CoS2 double-shelled nanotubes exhibit superior activity and high stability for photosensitized deoxygenative CO2 reduction, affording a high CO-generating rate of 28.1 μmol h-1 (per 0.5 mg of catalyst).

  • One-step hydrothermal synthesis of NiCo2S4 loaded on electrospun carbon nanofibers as an efficient counter electrode for dye-sensitized solar cells

    摘要: Possing excellent catalytic performance about counter electrode (CE) is the prerequisite for obtaining high performance dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Herein, The NiCo2S4/carbon nanofibers (NiCo2S4/CNFs) are successfully synthetised via hydrothermal and electrospinning method, and then directly used in DSSCs. Owing to the synergistic effect between the catalytic of NiCo2S4 materials and the electrical conductivity of CNFs, All chemical measurements reveal that NiCo2S4/CNFs applied in DSSCs exhibit good power conversion efficiency (9.0%) and stability, which surpass that of DSSCs with Pt CE (7.48%), indicating that NiCo2S4/CNFs composite would be helpful for the low-cost and efficient application of DSSCs.

  • One-pot synthesis of nanostructured CdS, CuS, and SnS by pulsed laser ablation in liquid environment and their antimicrobial activity

    摘要: We describe here a generic method for producing high-quality metal sulfide nanoparticles of a controllable and narrow size distribution in the nano-metric range. Metal sulfide nanostructures (CdS, CuS, and SnS) are synthesized by using nanosecond pulsed laser ablation in a liquid solution containing sulfur precursor in just one step (one-pot versatile synthesis method). The optical properties have been studied using UV–Visible spectroscopy showing the main characteristic transition peaks of metal sulfides. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) shows a uniform Smaller-sized and nearly spherical nanocrystals exhibited a cross lattice pattern. The structure study by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) reveal the purity and the spherical crystalline structure of all the prepared nano metal sulfides. After that, the antibacterial activity has been examined against four types of bacteria and unicellular fungi by using agar plate diffusion methods followed by studying the required time for killing. The tested microorganisms strain is showing that CuS nanoparticles have the highest antimicrobial activity.

  • A Review on the Development of Infrared Nonlinear Optical Materials with Triangular Anionic Groups

    摘要: Exploration of new nonlinear optical (NLO) materials in the infrared (IR) region is of importance in many civil and military fields. Fundamental building units (FBUs) play the critical roles in the origin of NLO effect for chalcogenide system, such as tetrahedral and triangular anionic groups. Note that some triangular groups can generate the relatively strong NLO effect owing to their distinctive π-conjugated electron orbitals or other unique structures. This review focuses on the metal sulfides with triangular anionic groups and has systematically studied the relationship between structure and performances. Compared to the known materials, the common choice for different MS3 (M = B, Sb, As, Ag, Cu, Te, Sn) units are introduced in detail. This review also summarizes the mechanism of MS3 to provide useful insights into the development of NLO materials with better performances.
