  • Investigations on structural, optical and electrical property of ZnO-CuO core–shell nano-composite

    摘要: ZnO-CuO core–shell nano-composite was synthesized by two-stage assisted wet-chemical sol-gel method. The nano-composite investigated by X-ray diffraction, ?eld effective scanning electron microscope, UV–visible spectroscopy and Electrical property at different frequency range 100 Hz to 2 MHz and at different temperature. The X-ray diffraction pattern shows poly-crystalline growth of sample, UV–visible spectrum shows higher absorption in ZnO-CuO nano-composite as compare ZnO, which can be understood in vicinity of morphology and heterojunction. The electrical conductivity of nano-composite has been increased with frequency and temperature due to defect available in the sample and thermal excitation of the charges in the sample respectively.

  • Phase Change Behavior of Sn <sub/>20</sub> Sb <sub/>80</sub> /Si?Nano-Composite Multilayer?Thin?Films

    摘要: Nano-composite multilayer Sn20Sb80/Si thin films were studied by thermal, electrical and optical methods. Compared with Sn20Sb80, Sn20Sb80/Si film was proved to be a more promising candidate for phase change memory device applications because of its higher crystallization temperature (246?C) and larger crystallization activation energy (2.6 eV). The bandgap was broadened with the increase of Si layer thickness. The crystallization of Sn20Sb80 was restrained after the adding of more Si film layers confirmed by X-ray diffraction patterns. A smoother surface was obtained with the root-mean-square surface roughness of 0.753 nm for [Sn20Sb80(3nm)/Si(7nm)]5 thin film. The measurement using the picosecond laser technique showed that [Sn20Sb80(3nm)/Si(7nm)]5 thin film could achieve the crystalline-to-amorphous phase transform within 2.8 ns irradiated by the laser pulse.

  • Synthesis, Characterization of SiO2/TiO2 and SiO2/Al2O3 Nano-Composites for the Photo-Degradation of Acid Brown- 43 dye with Irradiation of Solar Light

    摘要: In this study we have found that photo degradation of Acid brown- 43 dye with irradiation Solar light Using synthesized SiO2/ TiO2 and SiO2/Al2O3 Nano-composites which prepared by chemical precipitation technique using microwave irradiation. The structure and morphology of SiO2/TiO2 and SiO2/Al2O3) Nano composites were characterized by SEM, EDAX & TEM analysis. The similarities in photo degradation mechanism, SiO2, Al2O3 and TiO2 have as good as band gap energy, and possess worthy standing as photo-catalysts. SiO2/TiO2 and SiO2/Al2O3 nanoparticles have large surface area and thus provide a large number of active sites for interaction among the particles of different oxides. This synthesized Nano-composites of SiO2/TiO2 and SiO2/Al2O3 photo-catalyst sample showed tremendous photo-catalytic activity for the degradation of Acid Blue-43 under direct exposure to solar irradiation with respect to exposed time and dose of Nano-composites.

  • Poly (Vinyl Alcohol) Decorated Lithium Doped Stannous Oxide Nanocomposites as Highly Flexible UVA Shieldants

    摘要: Herein, we report the successful fabrication of a series of mechanically flexible poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) nanocomposite films with varying amounts of lithium doped stannous oxide (Li0.4Sn0.8O) nanofillers (i.e., 0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 wt %) by mechanical shearing followed by film casting. The structural characterizations (FTIR) ascertain the success of lithium doped stannous oxide integrations with PVA matrix. While, electronic spectral studies sheds light on the changes in electronic band structure leading to a gradual decrease in optical band gaps associated electronic transition from valence band to conduction band. The UV-visible transmittance study substantiates the ability of nano fabricated polymeric films to efficiently shield UV radiations, in particular UVA radiations and thereby act as highly flexible and visible transparent UVA protective coatings.

  • Influence of Processing Parameters on the Microhardness Property of Laser Cladded Titanium Powder

    摘要: Laser cladding techniques of additive manufacturing has been globally embraced in the most efficient means of maintenance of steel rail. Nano-composite of titanium has been used as covering layer. The processing parameters of the laser power was varied between 1.0 kW and 2.0 kW while the scanning speed, powder and gas flow rate were kept at constant. Design expert 11 software environment was used to analyze the results derived with a full factorial experiment design guide. The microhardness profiling was performed at a load of 500 g and at a dwelling time of 15 s with the microhardness indenter 20 (cid:2)(cid:3)(cid:4) (cid:5)(cid:6)stance was maintained between indentations. An almost uniform weight of Titanium powder was cladded at different variation of processing parameters. A predictive microhardness equation was generated and termss runs intercept of an orthogonal shape. The model terms were found to be significant with logical relationships. It was found that the microhardness increases as the laser power increased.

  • {Nanoa??gold, Iron (III)a??1,3,5a??benzene tricarboxylate Metal Organic Framework (MOF)} nanoa??composite as precursor for Laser Ablation Generation of golda??iron AumFen+/a?? (m = 1a??35, n=1a??5) clusters. Mass spectrometric study

    摘要: Gold-iron bimetallic materials have applications in many fields, especially in nanotechnology and biomedicine. The chemistry of iron doped gold clusters is still not fully understood but opens up the possibility of developing new materials, e.g. of gold cages doped with iron atoms. There have been several theoretical studies on these clusters but only a few experimental studies. Laser desorption ionisation (LDI) was used for the generation of Au-Fe bimetallic clusters via laser ablation (337 nm nitrogen laser) of the synthesised nano-composite {nano-gold; Fe(III) 1,3,5-benzene tricarboxylate}, i.e. {AuNPs, Fe-MOF}, while a quadrupole ion trap time of flight mass spectrometer, equipped with a reflectron, was used to acquire mass spectra. A {AuNPs, Fe-MOF} nano-composite was prepared and found suitable for the LDI generation of AumFen clusters. In addition to Aum+/- (m = 1-35) clusters, a series of positively and negatively charged gold-iron AumFen+/- ones were generated. The mass spectra exhibited evidence for the clusters containing up to five iron atoms. In total, 113 binary AumFen+/- clusters (m = 1-35, n =1-5) were identified in the gas phase. A synthesised {AuNPs, Iron (III)-1,3,5-benzene tricarboxylate MOF} nano-composite was found suitable for the generation of many new gold-iron clusters and mass spectrometry was shown to be an efficient technique for the determination of the cluster stoichiometry. A broad series of over 100 bimetallic AumFen clusters, some of them suggested to be gold cages doped with iron atoms (for m = 12 and higher), not only demonstrate a rich and complex chemistry, but also open wide possibilities of biomedical applications.

  • Applications of Laser Ablation - Thin Film Deposition, Nanomaterial Synthesis and Surface Modification || Concurrent Multi-Target Laser Ablation for Making Nano-Composite Films

    摘要: New method of using laser ablation for film deposition that can be called as concurrent multi-beam multi-target matrix-assisted pulsed laser evaporation and pulsed laser deposition (MBMT-MAPLE/PLD) is described. Practical MBMT-MAPLE/PLD system built at Dillard University has three separate laser beams, three targets and the remotely controlled plume overlapping mechanism that provides even mixing of the target materials during their deposition on the substrate. The system accommodates MAPLE targets in the form of polymer solutions frozen with flowing liquid nitrogen. The feasibility of the method was demonstrated when it was used for making polymer nano-composite films with two inorganic additives: upconversion fluorescent phosphor NaYF4:Yb3+, Er3+ and aluminum-doped ZnO (AZO). Three laser beams, an infrared 1064-nm beam for the MAPLE and two 532-nm beams for the PLD targets, were concurrently used in the process. The fabricated nano-composite films were characterized using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), optical fluorescent spectroscopy, and the measurement of the quantum efficiency (QE) of the upconversion fluorescence. The size of the inorganic nanoparticles varied in the range 10–200 nm. The AZO additive increased QE by 1.6 times. The conclusion was made on the feasibility of MBMT-MAPLE/PLD method for making multi-component nano-composite films for various applications.

  • Performance of PVDF/TiO<SUB align="right">2 nano-composite film in the application of energy harvester

    摘要: The compression mode and shear mode for energy harvesting experimental platform was estabished. The energy collection efficiency of PVDF/TiO2 nano-composite film in the two mode and nonlinear piezoelectric effect were analysed. Experimental results show that the energy collection efficiency of the shear mode was higher than the compressed mode. The Piezoelectric constant and piezoelectric coupling coefficient have nonlinear changes under large stress. In this paper, the experimental data establish a relationship electromechanical coupling coefficients and parameters of composite thin film piezoelectric stress.
