  • Copper nanoclusters @ nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots-based ratiometric fluorescence probe for lead (II) ions detection in porphyra

    摘要: A novel ratiometric fluorescence probe was proposed for detecting lead (II) ions (Pb2+) in porphyra, the approach was based on copper nanoclusters and nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (CuNCs-CNQDs). In this probe, the CuNCs delivered the response signal, the fluorescence of which was enhanced by Pb2+ due to the aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) between Pb2+ and CuNCs. The CNQDs provided the self-calibration signal, whose fluorescence remained almost unchanged in coexistence with Pb2+. According to the change of fluorescence intensity ratio between the fluorophores, CuNCs–CNQDs nanohybrid was used as ratiometric probes for the sensitive detection of Pb2+ in the range of 0.010 to 2.5 mg L-1, with a detection limit of 0.0031 mg L-1. Finally, the probe was successfully applied to detect Pb2+ in porphyra with relative standard deviations (RSDs) lower than 5%. This study provides a straightforward, stable, and sensitive approach for detecting Pb2+ in porphyra.

  • Evaluation of electronic transport and optical response of two-dimensional Fe-doped TiO2 thin films for photodetector applications

    摘要: We have carried out the structural, electronic and optical properties of Iron (Fe)-doped TiO2 thin films by sol-gel technique. The results reveal that the thin films form in a granular structure where particle-like grains cover the surface. Photophysical features of the thin films are performed by UV–vis spectrometry. The optical bandgap of undoped TiO2 thin film decreases from 3.17 eV to 3.05 eV with an increase in atomic ratios of Fe content, so the electron transfer is easier from the valence band to the conduction band. The current-voltage (I–V) and capacitance-voltage (C–V) characteristics of the undoped and Fe-doped TiO2 thin films are investigated under dark and various lighting intensities. Our results show that the photocurrents increase with increasing intensities of illumination. The photodiodes also show a decreasing capacitance with increasing frequency. From I–V and C–V plots, the photodiodes show rectifying properties and good photovoltaic behavior. Herein, the results display that the produced new Fe-doped TiO2 thin film samples can be used for photodetector applications.

  • Influence of pore size of Ti substrate on structural and capacitive properties of Ti/boron doped diamond electrode

    摘要: This work is aimed at understanding the influence of pore size of titanium (Ti) substrate on the capacitive properties of boron doped diamond (BDD) electrode. BDD films were deposited on Ti substrates with five different pore sizes - 2.5, 5.0, 20.0, 30.0, 50.0 mm - using hot filament chemical vapor deposition (HFCVD). The pore size of substrate was found to cause significant variations in surface structure and capacitive properties of the Ti/BDD electrodes. The optimum pore size that resulted in best surface structure and capacitive properties was found to be 30.0 mm. The Ti30.0/BDD electrode was found to possess higher sp2-C bonds content, sp3-C bond with doped boron atom, more closely interlaced grains and bigger specific surface area than other electrodes. The maximum capacitance obtained for Ti30.0/BDD electrode was 53.3 mF cm-2, with minimum impedance value Rct of 4.8 U. The minimum capacitance of 1.07 mF cm-2 was obtained for the Ti50/BDD electrode, and the maximum impedance value Rct of 290 U was obtained by the Ti20.0/BDD electrode. Furthermore, the Ti30/BDD electrode possessed a favorable electrochemical stability of capacitance retention of 89.3% after 2070 cycles. A mechanism by which pore size affects the capacitance properties of the Ti/BDD electrode is proposed and discussed in this paper.

  • Enhanced green emission from Er-doped (AlGa) <sub/>2</sub> O <sub/>3</sub> films grown by pulsed laser deposition

    摘要: Erbium (Er) doped (AlGa)2O3 films were deposited on sapphire substrates using pulsed laser deposition. The transmittance spectra and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements show that transparent (AlGa)2O3:Er films with a wider bandgap can be achieved by increasing the Al content in the targets. All films exhibit the strongest pure green emission at 550 nm with the wavelength independent of the alloy compositions. A maximum intensity observed at Al content of 0.34 is several times higher than that in Ga2O3:Er films, indicating that the intensity of green emission can be enhanced by increasing the host bandgap. Our study also reveals that too high Al content has decreased the photoluminescence intensity, which should be related to the degraded crystallinity proved by X-ray rocking curve. These results suggest that (AlGa)2O3:Er film is a promising material for fabricating efficient green luminescent devices.

  • Tunable luminescence and morphological evolution of facile synthesized zinc borate/carbon dots composites for NUV-WLEDs

    摘要: A series of zinc borate/carbon dots composites (ZBH/yNCDs) were successfully synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The influences of yellow N-doped carbon dots (yNCDs) content on the structure, morphologies and luminescence properties of the zinc borate (4ZnO·B2O3·H2O, ZBH) were investigated. With increasing yNCDs content, ZBH in the ZBH/yNCDs composites gradually lost water and eventually became ZB/yNCDs (4ZnO·B2O3, ZB) composites. Meanwhile, the tunable luminescence of ZBH/yNCDs composites and the morphological evolution from rod-like to blocks to sphere-like were achieved by varying the yNCDs content in the zinc borate matrix. The results revealed that the ZBH/yNCDs composite with sphere-like morphology has the strongest white light emission at 395 nm excitation wavelength. Therefore, the ZBH/yNCDs composites may be used as phosphors in the near-ultraviolet (NUV) excitation white-light illumination field. The discovery of this work may also provide new inspirations for solving the self-quenching effect of carbon dots in the solid-state display applications.

  • Fabrication cobalt-doped indium oxide/molybdenum disulfide ternary nanocomposite toward carbon monoxide gas sensing

    摘要: This paper demonstrated a high-performance carbon monoxide (CO) gas sensor based on cobalt (Co)-doped indium oxide (In2O3) nanoparticles/molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanoflowers nanocomposite. Co-In2O3 nanoparticles were synthesized by a co-precipitation method, and flower-like MoS2 was prepared by one-step hydrothermal route. Layer-by-layer self-assembly technique was employed to fabricate Co-In2O3/MoS2 film sensor on an epoxy substrate with interdigital electrodes. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were carried out to fully examine the morphology, microstructure, and elementary composition of the as-prepared samples. The CO-sensing characteristics of the Co-In2O3/MoS2 film sensor were systematically investigated under room temperature through exposing the sensor to various concentration of CO gas. The Co-In2O3/MoS2 sensor achieved high sensitivity, fast response/recovery speed, excellent repeatability and stable long-term stability. An approach of combining gas-sensing experiments with density-functional theory (DFT) simulation based on first-principle was used to further explore the CO-sensing mechanism of the Co-In2O3/MoS2 sensor. The Co2+ ion doping, and heterojunctions created at interfaces of Co-In2O3 and MoS2 were attributed to the high-performance CO sensing.

  • Evaluation of the Efficacy of Erbium, Chromium-doped Yttrium, Scandium, Gallium, and Garnet Laser in Partial Pulpotomy in Permanent Immature Molars: A Randomized Controlled Trial

    摘要: Introduction: The use of the erbium, chromium-doped yttrium, scandium, gallium, and garnet (Er,Cr:YSGG) laser in vital pulp therapy contributes to the formation of dentin bridges and a sterile zone as well as the maintenance of the vitality of the pulp. However, no prior studies have used the Er,Cr:YSGG laser in partial pulpotomy of immature permanent teeth. The aim of this study was to compare the ef?cacy of partial pulpotomy treatment using mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) alone and MTA with the Er,Cr:YSGG laser in permanent immature molars. Methods: A total of 90 caries-exposed permanent immature molar teeth were included and randomly divided into 2 groups: the MTA group (n 5 45) and the laser 1 MTA group (n 5 45). In the MTA group, MTA was applied to the exposed area on the pulp after bleeding control. In the same session, the tooth was restored with a composite resin. In the laser 1 MTA group, before MTA condensation, the Er,Cr:YSGG laser was applied to the exposure area. Patients were recalled at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months after treatment. The Mann-Whitney U and chi-Square tests were used for statistical analysis. Results: The success rate (95.5%) of the laser 1 MTA group was similar to that of the MTA group (88.8%). There was no signi?cant difference between groups in terms of the frequency of at least 1 pathologic clinical or radiographic failure at 12 months (P . .05). Conclusions: Partial pulpotomy treatment showed a high success rate in immature permanent molars; however, the use of the laser did not contribute to the success rate compared with MTA alone.

  • Effect of non-metallic X(X=F, N, S) and Cr co-doping on properties of BiFeO3: A first-principles study

    摘要: In this study, the structural, magnetic, electric and optical properties in X (X=F, N, S) and Cr co-doped BiFeO3 (BFO) are calculated using the density functional theory. For Cr–X co-doping case, the structure of BFO undergo a phase transition from monoclinic to triclinic structure accompanying net magnetic moments of 5.92 μB, 6.04 μB and 7.80 μB, for Cr–F co-doping, Cr–N co-doping and Cr–S co-doping, respectively. The underlying physical mechanisms are the lattice distortions tunned by doping. The decreased Fe–O–Fe bond angles and Fe–O bond lengths will bring weak antiferromagnetism superexchange interaction. In addition, the band gaps of Cr–X co-doping cases are decreased from 2.20 eV (BFO bulk) to 1.31 eV and 1.80 eV for Cr–F co-doping and Cr–S co-doping, respectively, which are well for photovoltaic applications according to the well-known Shockley-Queisser criterion, suggesting a possible great improvement optical properties in Cr–X co-doped samples.

  • Mn-doped 2D Sn-based perovskites with energy transfer from self-trapped excitons to dopants for warm white light-emitting diodes

    摘要: Mn-doped 2D perovskite powders are promising phosphors for warm white light-emitting diodes (LEDs). However, it remains a challenge to solve the problem of lead toxicity and improve photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs). Here, we have successfully prepared Mn-doped 2D Sn-based perovskite materials ((C8H17NH2)2Sn1-xMnxBr4). The PLQYs of (C8H17NH2)2Sn1-xMnxBr4 (x = 0.26) powders reach up to 42%. The as-prepared (C8H17NH2)2Sn1-xMnxBr4 exhibit a single broad photoluminescence (PL) band, differing from the dual peaks of Mn-doped lead halide perovskite quantum dots. Theoretical conclusions and experimental results show the competitive relationship between self-trapped excitons (STEs) emission from the host crystal and dopant Mn d-d transition emission. With Mn dopant concentration increasing, the PL spectra exhibit red shifts and the full width at half-maximum (FWHM) turns larger, which is constructive for warm white LEDs. The fabricated warm white LEDs based on (C8H17NH2)2Sn1-xMnxBr4 show warm white light correlated color temperature (CCT, 3542 K) and high color-rendering index (Ra, 88.12). Our work provides new possibilities for optoelectronic devices based on lead-free perovskite materials.

  • Generation of J-shaped pulses in ultra-long Ytterbium doped mode locked fiber laser

    摘要: We report, for the first time, generation of J-shaped pulses in figure-eight type ultra-long, all-normal dispersion Ytterbium-doped fiber laser mode locked by the combined effect of nonlinear polarization evolution and nonlinear optical loop mirror. Cavity birefringence based spectral filtering introduced by polarization controllers is used for the formation of J-shaped as well as step-like and flat-top pulses. The shape and duration of generated pulse is found to depend on applied birefringence as well as pump power. J-shaped pulses of 180 ns duration and 332 nJ pulse energy at 201.45 kHz fundamental repetition rate are generated at 200 mW pump power. Experimentally, a strong correlation between spectral and temporal profile of the generated pulse shapes is established where it has been shown that asymmetric spectral filtering is responsible for generation of J-shaped and step-like pulses. Numerically, the spectral transmission of figure-eight type resonator under different cavity birefringence and intra-cavity power is investigated which qualitatively supports the experimental results.
