  • A magnetically recoverable CaTiO<sub>3</sub>/reduced graphene oxide/NiFe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub> nanocomposite for the dye degradation under simulated sunlight irradiation

    摘要: In this work, ternary CaTiO3/reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/NiFe2O4 nanocomposite was successfully prepared using polyacrylamide gel route followed by hydrothermal method. It is observed that NiFe2O4 and CaTiO3 nanoparticles are assembled on the surface of rGO. Furthermore, the formation of chemical bonding between the nanoparticles and rGO is confirmed. The photocatalytic activities of the samples were evaluated through the degradation of methylene blue and rhodamine B under the simulated sunlight irradiation. The results indicate that the ternary nanocomposite exhibits remarkable enhanced photocatalytic activity compared with bare CaTiO3 and NiFe2O4. In this nanocomposite, the photogenerated electrons of CaTiO3 and NiFe2O4 can be captured by rGO, leading to an increased separation and availability of electrons and holes for the photocatalytic reaction. Moreover, this nanocomposite exhibits obvious ferromagnetism and can be readily recovered by external magnetic field. The recycling photocatalytic experiment demonstrates that the nanocomposite possesses good photocatalytic reusability.

  • Mg dependent Sunlight photocatalytic performance of Nickel ferrite synthesized by a green sol-gel route

    摘要: We report an environmentally friendly synthetic strategy to synthesize new nickel ferrite and Mg doped nickel ferrite photocatalysts under modified green sol-gel route in which Aloe Vera gel acts as a natural template. The crystalline phase, surface morphology and size of the prepared photocatalysts were characterized by PXRD, SEM, TEM and HRTEM analysis. The energy band gap of the nanoparticles (NPs) can be tuned in the range of 2.55–2.34 eV by varying the dopant concentration. The photoluminescence analysis indicates that the present NPs are an effective white component in display applications. These synthesized NPs were used for photocatalytic decomposition of recalcitrant pollutants in aqueous media under Sunlight irradiation. When compared to pure, NiFe2O4: Mg2+ (5 mol %), the NiFe2O4: Mg2+ (1mol %) exhibits the highest photocatalytic efficiency for the decomposition of recalcitrant pollutants than that of commercial P25.This enhancement in photocatalytic performance can be mainly attributed to the balance between the parameters, crystallanity,band gap, morphology, crystallite size, defects, dopant amount and combined facets of photocatalysis It opens new window to use this simple greener route to synthesize bi-functional character NPs in the area of photocatalysis particularly waste water treatment and display applications.

  • Fabrication of magnetically separable NiFe2O4/Bi24O31Br10 nanocomposites and excellent photocatalytic performance under visible light irradiation

    摘要: Novel multifunctional NiFe2O4/Bi24O31Br10 nanocomposites were synthesized by a thermal decomposition process and hydrothermal route. The structures, morphologies, as well as the magnetic, optical and visible-light photocatalytic properties of the as-prepared nanocomposites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and UV–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). The experimental results reveal that the NiFe2O4/Bi24O31Br10 composites exhibit an enhanced photocatalytic activity for photo-degradation of crystal violet (CV) under visible light irradiation. Among the prepared samples, the 20% NiFe2O4/Bi24O31Br10 nanocomposite displays the best photocatalytic activity, which is mainly ascribed to the efficient separation of photo-induced electron-hole pairs. Hydroxyl (?OH) radicals and holes are confirmed to be the dominant active species in the NiFe2O4/Bi24O31Br10 photocatalytic system. Furthermore, due to their excellent ferromagnetism and stability, NiFe2O4/Bi24O31Br10 nanocomposites can be easily separated from contaminant solution by using a magnet, implying that they have promising application in treatment of various dyestuff wastewaters on a large scale.

  • Rice husk derived nano-NiFe2O4@CAGC-catalyzed direct oxidation of toluene to benzyl benzoate under visible LED light

    摘要: Here, we report an efficient and highly selective oxidation of primary carbon-hydrogen bond in toluene catalyzed by biomass, rice husk derived chemically activated graphitic carbon supported NiFe2O4 (nano-NiFe2O4@CAGC) nanomaterial under LED light. The hybrid nanocatalyst showed excellent activity and selectivity towards direct oxidation of toluene to benzyl benzoate. The nano-NiFe2O4@CAGC has also demonstrated superior catalytic activity compared to its individual components. The catalyst was very robust and stable under the reaction conditions, and was separated from the reaction mixture by an external magnet and reused for subsequent reactions.

  • Magnetization reversal in NiFe <sub/>2</sub> O4/SrTiO <sub/>3</sub> nanoheterostructures grown by laser molecular beam epitaxy

    摘要: NiFe2O4/SrTiO3(001) nanoheterostructures have been fabricated by laser molecular beam epitaxy method. Surface morphology and crystal structure of Ni-ferrite films were analysed by atomic force microscopy (AFM), reflection of high energy electron diffraction (RHEED), X-ray diffraction (XRD). X-ray methods prove the presence of inverse spinel crystal structure of films that was confirmed by measurements of spectral dependence of optical polar Kerr (PMOKE) effect. Study of magnetization reversal for different orientations of magnetic field carried out by vibration sample magnetometry (VSM) and longitudinal magneto-optical Kerr effect (LMOKE) are presented. In-plane magnetization loops exhibit 90 period indicating presence of biaxial magnetic anisotropy. Asymmetry of LMOKE hysteresis loops is related to manifestation of quadratic in magnetization effects in reflection of light.

  • PPECu/NiFe2O4 as an efficient visible-light-driven difunctional photocatalyst for degradation of PPCPs and hydrogen production

    摘要: A simple coprecipitation method has been used to prepare PPECu/NiFe2O4 composites. The as-prepared samples were studied by XRD, FE-SEM, TEM, EDS and UVevis Drs. The loading of NiFe2O4 not only enhanced the visible light absorption intensity of composites, but also promoted the separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. Cocatalyst NiFe2O4 made the PPECu/NiFe2O4 composites possessed better activities for TC degradation and hydrogen production than pure PPECu. Among the composite photocatalysts, P-NFO-5 exhibited the highest activity with the degrade ef?ciency of 98% (20 min) and hydrogen evolution yield of 35.8 mmol/g (3.0 h) under visible light irradiation. Furthermore, a possible mechanism for the ef?cient PPECu/NiFe2O4 composite has been discussed.
