Panda Resonator Structure to Generate Four-Wave Mixing by Nonlinear Effect
摘要: Finite-difference time domain (FDTD) simulation has been used for modeling of nonlinear optical interaction in a modified microring resonator as Panda structure. By proposing the Panda structure which has been modeled using both silicon and material (Chi2) with nonlinear effect, generation of four-wave mixing is feasible. Due to the nonlinear interaction between the two input waves as pump and signal within the microring resonators the results show the generation of three picks including the pump, signal and converted wave. In the case, if the silicon has been utilized as the core waveguide, the resonance interferences occur, where the high Qfactor of the resonance frequencies was obtained as 3.87 × 103 in the drop port outputs. Compared to silicon material, the nonlinear material shows a better power transferring performances. In the results showing the four-wave mixing, the converted wave has a lower power than the signal and pump.

Variational source condition for ill-posed backward nonlinear Maxwell's equations
摘要: This paper examines the mathematical analysis of an electromagnetic inverse problem governed by nonlinear evolutionary Maxwell’s equations. The aim of the inverse problem is to recover electromagnetic ?elds at the past time by noisy measurement data at the present time. We consider the Tikhonov regularization method to cope with the ill-posedness of the governing backward nonlinear Maxwell’s equations. By means of the semigroup theory, we study its convergence analysis and derive optimality conditions through a rigorous ?rst-order analysis and adjoint calculus. The ?nal part of the paper is focused on the convergence rate analysis of the Tikhonov regularization method under a variational source condition (VSC), which leads to power-type convergence rates. Employing the spectral theory, the complex interpolation theory and fractional Sobolev spaces, we validate the proposed VSC on account of an appropriate regularity assumption on the exact initial data and the material parameters.

Nonlinear bifurcation diagrams of the current states of microcavity exciton-polaritons in the lattice
摘要: We study nonequilibrium properties of exciton-polaritons in an incoherently driven semiconductor microcavity with an embedded weak-contrast periodic lattice. Within the framework of mean-field theory, we describe nonlinear eigenstates of coherent exciton polaritons having the structure of Bloch waves and identify nonlinear current states at the boundaries of Brillouin zone. We demonstrate a profound modification of the eigenfrequency-momenta bifurcation diagrams of the condensate evoked by exciton-exciton interactions. The discussed phenomenon occurs for the states possessing high degree of symmetry, i.e. in particular, for the states lying at the centre or at the boundary of Brillouin zone.

Spin domains in one-dimensional conservative polariton solitons
摘要: We report stable orthogonally polarised domains in high-density polariton solitons propagating in a semiconductor microcavity wire. This effect arises from spin dependent polariton-polariton interactions and pump-induced imbalance of polariton spin populations. The interactions result in an effective magnetic field acting on polariton spin across the soliton profile, leading to the formation of polarisation domains. Our experimental findings are in excellent agreement with theoretical modelling taking into account these effects.

Nonperturbative nonlinear effects in the dispersion relations for TE and TM plasmons on two-dimensional materials
摘要: We analytically obtain the dispersion relations for transverse-electric (TE) and transverse-magnetic (TM) surface plasmon-polaritons in a nonlinear two-dimensional (2D) conducting material with inversion symmetry lying between two Kerr-type dielectric media. To this end, we use Maxwell’s equations within the quasielectrostatic, weakly dissipative regime. We show that the wavelength and propagation distance of surface plasmons decrease due to the nonlinearity of the surrounding dielectric. In contrast, the effect of the nonlinearity of the 2D material depends on the signs of the real and imaginary parts of the third-order conductivity. Notably, the dispersion relations obtained by naively replacing the permittivity of the dielectric medium by its nonlinear counterpart in the respective dispersion relations of the linear regime are not accurate. We apply our analysis to the case of doped graphene and make predictions for the surface plasmon wavelength and propagation distance.

Pb <sub/>2</sub> GaF <sub/>2</sub> (SeO <sub/>3</sub> ) <sub/>2</sub> Cl: Band Engineering Strategy by Aliovalent Substitution for Enlarging Bandgap while Keeping Strong Second Harmonic Generation Response
摘要: Wide bandgap and strong second-order generation (SHG) effect are two crucial but contradictory conditions for practical nonlinear optical (NLO) materials. Herein, a new NLO crystal Pb2GaF2(SeO3)2Cl (I) containing novel functional (GaO3F3)6? octahedra is designed and synthesized by a rational band engineering strategy with aliovalent substitution. Benefiting from the removal of transition metal cations and the introduction of bridged F anions, I exhibits the widest bandgap among all reported phase-matchable NLO selenites. Meanwhile, a strong SHG response more than 4.5 times of KH2PO4 (KDP) is maintained. The dominate role of the (GaO3F3)6? groups to the enlarged bandgap in I are elucidated by first-principles studies.

Analytic Mode Normalization for the Kerr Nonlinearity Parameter: Prediction of Nonlinear Gain for Leaky Modes
摘要: Based on the resonant-state expansion with analytic mode normalization, we derive a general master equation for the nonlinear pulse propagation in waveguide geometries that is valid for bound and leaky modes. In the single-mode approximation, this equation transforms into the well-known nonlinear Schr?dinger equation with a closed expression for the Kerr nonlinearity parameter. The expression for the Kerr nonlinearity parameter can be calculated on the minimal spatial domain that spans only across the regions of spatial inhomogeneities. It agrees with previous vectorial formulations for bound modes, while for leaky modes the Kerr nonlinearity parameter turns out to be a complex number with the imaginary part providing either nonlinear loss or even gain for the overall attenuating pulses. This nonlinear gain results in more intense pulse compression and stronger spectral broadening, which is demonstrated here on the example of liquid-filled capillary-type fibers.

Recent Advances in Brillouin Optical Correlation-Domain Reflectometry
摘要: Distributed ?ber-optic sensing based on Brillouin scattering has been extensively studied and many con?gurations have been developed so far. In this paper, we review the recent advances in Brillouin optical correlation-domain re?ectometry (BOCDR), which is known as a unique technique with intrinsic single-end accessibility, high spatial resolution, and cost ef?ciency. We brie?y discuss the advantages and disadvantages of BOCDR over other Brillouin-based distributed sensing techniques, and present the fundamental principle and properties of BOCDR with some special schemes for enhancing the performance. We also describe the recent development of a high-speed con?guration of BOCDR (slope-assisted BOCDR), which offers a beyond-nominal-resolution detectability. The paper is summarized with some future prospects.

摘要: In our previous research on wireless power transfer systems, an operator-based sliding mode control design was proposed to regulate the output voltage. However, the steady-state error exists in the nonlinear control system. In this paper, an operator-based integral sliding mode robust nonlinear control design scheme is proposed to eliminate the steady-state error in the wireless power transfer system. Besides, the robust stability is guaranteed by using robust right coprime factorization approach. Results of simulations and experiments are presented to prove the effectiveness of the proposed control design scheme.

Some structural, linear and nonlinear optical characteristics of single KDP crystals influenced by EDTA additive
摘要: Single Potassium Dihydrogen Phosphates (KDP) crystals were successfully grown in pure and 1 mol% Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt (EDTA) added KDP solutions by Sankaranarayanan–Ramasamy method. Their growth was oriented in type I phase-matching direction which is one of two conditions of maximum second harmonic generation efficiency. The elemental compositions of the crystals were determined by EDX analysis. The UV–Vis spectroscopy, FT-IR analysis, X-Ray diffraction, and second harmonic generation studies have been carried out in order to assess the influence of EDTA additive on quality of KDP crystal. EDTA can improve the structural perfection and optical characteristics of the crystal. Especially, this additive helps increase second harmonic generation efficiency of KDP crystal, which is very useful for frequency doublers.
