Enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography of choroidal osteoma with secondary neovascular membranes: report of two cases
摘要： We report enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT) features based on clinical and imaging data from two newly diagnosed cases of choroidal osteoma presenting with recent visual loss secondary to choroidal neovascular membranes. The features described in the two cases, compression of the choriocapillaris and disorganization of the medium and large vessel layers, are consistent with those of previous reports. We noticed a sponge-like pattern previously reported, but it was subtle. Both lesions had multiple intralesional layers and a typical intrinsic transparency with visibility of the sclerochoroidal junction.

Multiple miliary osteoma cutis treatment response to Q-switched Nd:YAG laser: A case report
摘要： Facial multiple miliary osteoma cutis is a variant of osteoma cutis usually occurring in women with a previous history of acne vulgaris. Successful ablative laser treatment has been reported using both CO2 and Er:YAG lasers among other invasive treatment modalities, like surgical removal. We report a patient with biopsy-proven facial multiple miliary osteoma cutis responding to non-ablative Q-switched Nd:YAG laser therapy. The patient had excellent cosmesis without textural changes or hypopigmentation despite her Asian background after three sessions over 6 months. Multiple miliary osteoma cutis is therefore now amenable to non-surgical non-ablative therapy by using Q-switched Nd:YAG laser therapy reducing the risk of textural changes and hypopigmentation, especially in dark complexion and high-risk individuals. To our knowledge, this treatment approach has not been previously reported.

Peripheral osteoma of the nasal bone after laser treatment
摘要： Introduction: Peripheral osteoma, which arises from the periosteum, commonly develops in the head and neck region and is found frequently in the mandible, maxilla, and paranasal sinuses. However, osteoma of the face, especially from the nasal bone, is quite rare. Patient concerns: A 34-year-old female visited our outpatient department with a small mass on the nose. She had n laser treatment of nevus at the same spot 14 years before, and it had enlarged slowly since 10 years before. Diagosis: Computed tomography scan revealed a 0.7 (cid:1) 0.5 cm sized radio-opaque tumor of the nasal bone. Interventions: Under general anesthesia, surgical excision was performed through a transcolumellar and infracartilaginous incision. The excised tumor was a 0.7 (cid:1) 0.5 cm sized hard mass. Outcomes: Biopsy con?rmed it as a peripheral osteoma. After tumor removal, structural stability of nasal framework including bone and cartilage was maintained, and symmetry of the nasal dorsum was acquired. Conclusion: Chronic osteoma can compress the abutting structures. In the case of the nose, either structural instability or asymmetry can occur. By applying open rhinoplasty techniques, postoperative scars could be hidden and additional correction of the affected structure could be carried out if necessary. As a result, the surgeon can achieve the functional and esthetic outcomes simultaneously. Abbreviations: CT = computed tomography, MRI = magnetic resonance imaging.
