Weighted Sum-Based Color Filter Array Interpolation Using Taylor Series Cubic Approximation
摘要: In this paper, we introduce a weighted sum-based color filter array interpolation method using Taylor series cubic approximation. We use a high-order approximation to predict accurate pixel values during the reconstruction of quincunx grid-sampled green channels, and perform a weighted average-based interpolation in a large local window. We also perform prediction utilizing a color difference model in a small local window to generate additional green values. By applying the weighted sum method to the predicted green values in two local windows, green channel can be enhanced. The remaining color components, namely, the rectangular grid-sampled red and blue channels, are interpolated utilizing the weighted average method of the color difference model. Additionally, we propose a post-processing method that removes the zipper artifacts generated during the interpolation process. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed color filter array interpolation system outperforms existing algorithms in terms of both objective and subjective performance.

Synthesis and Optical Properties of ZnO Nanoneedles Array
摘要: Zinc oxide nanoneedles array were synthesized on Si substrate by catalyst-free chemical vapor deposition technique. Scanning electron microscopic images displayed that the ZnO nanoneedles with average diameter of 100 nm were aligned well on Si substrate. TEM images showed that there were some steps on the top of ZnO nanoneedles. Only (002) diffraction peak of ZnO can be found in the XRD patterns of the samples, indicating that the as-grown nanoneedles are highly crystalline in nature and grow along the [0001] direction. The growth mechanism of ZnO nanoneedles array is consistent with step kinetics and bizarre surface growing and the crystal growth is a typical simple-two-dimensional-nucleation normal-layer-growth. Room-temperature photoluminescence spectrum of ZnO nanoneedles array showed two near band-edge emission peaks at 380 and 389 nm and a deep level emission around 480 nm.

Proof-of-concept experiments and chip-scale integrated-photonics subsystem development will also be discussed.

摘要: Compressive sensing (CS) has attracted considerable attention in many imaging applications owing to its high resolution and data under-sampling capabilities. However, the performance differs in many imaging applications due to different formulations of the sensing matrix. This paper presents a comparative study of CS array imaging under switched array, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) array and phased array configurations. Numerical simulations concerning their imaging performance are provided considering factors like sparsity level, element spacing and noise condition.

摘要: We present a dual-polarized ultra-wideband element in an in?nite large array condition for planar phased array antennas in mm-wave applications. The array antenna consists of tightly-coupled bowties in a dual-offset con?guration. In order to simplify the manufacturing process and eliminate the scalability limitation, a new feeding network is employed. The feeding is inspired by magneto-electric dipoles (MEDs) and planar ultra-wideband array antennas (PUMAs). Hence, the feeding is integrated with the horizontally oriented radiating bowties and removes the need for the external baluns. The simulated antenna shows relative bandwidths of 2.3 : 1 and 3 : 1 at VSWR<3, for maximum scanning angles of 60? and 45?, respectively, at both E- and H-planes.

摘要: A beam steering fabric based parasitic antenna array is introduced for operation at around 4.4 GHz. The array designed and built using conductive and nonconductive fabric materials and PIN diode switches show steering along 90, 0, and 270 degrees along the azimuth with measured peak gain between 6.8 to 8.5 dBi.

摘要: In this paper we present a new technique to synchronize multiple individual unsynchronized sub-array antenna systems to form one large aperture array antenna system. The proposed technique synchronizes the time and the frequency of the different sub array antenna systems, using a joint Maximum Likelihood (ML) optimization for a data aided received signal, while the phase coherency between the sub arrays is achieved using a combination of least mean square (LMS) and ML algorithms. The experimental results show that the proposed technique is stable in estimating the global array antenna pattern and converges within the ?rst 50 samples of the received data.

摘要: A fully-integrated S-band high-gain MMIC low noise amplifier (LNA) with differential input and single-ended output is presented and implemented in 0.15-μm GaAs pHEMT for Square Kilometre Array (SKA) astronomical receiver. The low-loss input noise matching network is designed, and the fully on-chip LC balun is introduced between the first stage LNA core and the second stage amplifier to improve overall system noise figure. The 1-dB bandwidth of the LNA covers from 1.5 to 3.7 GHz. The measurement results demonstrate 31.8-dB gain, average in-band noise figure of 0.73 dB with DC power con- sumption of 25 mW. The chip area is 2.5 x 2 mm2. Also, a noise figure measurement method for the 3-port differential-input-to- single-ended-output amplifiers is introduced in this paper.

A CMOS-Based Thermopile Array Fabricated on a Single SiO2 Membrane
摘要: We present a novel thermopile-based infrared (IR) sensor array fabricated on a single CMOS dielectric membrane, comprising of poly-silicon p+ and n+ elements. Processing of the chip is simplified by fabricating the entire array on a single membrane and by using standard CMOS Al metal layers for thermopile cold junction heatsinking. On a chip area of 1.76 mm × 1.76 mm, with a membrane size of 1.2 mm × 1.2 mm, we fabricated IR sensor arrays with 8 × 8 to 100 × 100 pixels. The 8 × 8 pixel device has <2% thermal crosstalk, a responsivity of 36 V/W and enhanced optical absorption in the 8–14 μm waveband, making it particularly suitable for people presence sensing.
