摘要: The security of current key exchange protocols such as Dif?e–Hellman key exchange is based on the hardness of number theoretic problems. However, these key exchange protocols are threatened by weak random number generators, advances to CPU power, a new attack from the eavesdropper, and the emergence of a quantum computer. Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) addresses these challenges by using quantum properties to exchange a secret key without the risk of being intercepted. Recent developments on the QKD system resulted in a stable key generation with fewer errors so that the QKD system is rapidly becoming a solid commercial proposition. However, although the security of the QKD system is guaranteed by quantum physics, its careless implementation could make the system vulnerable. In this paper, we proposed the ?rst side-channel attack on plug-and-play QKD system. Through a single electromagnetic trace obtained from the phase modulator on Alice’s side, we were able to classify the electromagnetic trace into four classes, which corresponds to the number of bit and basis combination in the BB84 protocol. We concluded that the plug-and-play QKD system is vulnerable to side-channel attack so that the countermeasure must be considered.

Polarization-based plug-and-play measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution
摘要: Measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution (MDI-QKD) has received much attention, with the goal of overcoming all of the security loopholes caused by an imperfect detection system. We here propose a plug-and-play MDI-QKD (P&P MDI-QKD) scheme whereby an untrusted relay node, Charlie, owns a laser and sends photons to Alice and Bob. Alice (Bob) modulates the polarization of the incident photons and returns them to Charlie. Charlie uses a modified Bell state analyzer (BSA) to perform Bell state measurements (BSM). In comparison with the original version of MDI-QKD, our scheme exploits a single untrusted laser as the photon source. This makes the signal photons identical and enhances the Hong-Ou-Mandel effect. Second, because of the P&P structure, the setup can automatically eliminate the birefringence influence of the fibers, which makes the setup highly stable. Finally, our modified BSA can identify |Φ?+ and |Φ?? of four Bell states with polarization encoding but not |Ψ?+ and |Ψ??. Based on practical experimental parameters, a simulation showed that the maximum theoretical secure transmission distance could reach more 280 km.

Effect of Cyano Substitution on Conjugated Polymers for Bulk Heterojunction Solar Cells
摘要: Portable and autonomous pumps are in critical demand for low-cost point-of-care testing (POCT) applications in microfluidic fields. In microfluidic laboratories, commercial pumps (e.g., syringe pumps, pressure pumps, or peristaltic pumps) are widely used for precise fluid delivery, however they can’t be integrated into miniaturized microfluidic devices due to their bulky sizes and high costs. Here, we propose a portable plug-and-play syringe pump with compression force, and constant flow autoregulation is realized through the microfluidic flow regulatory chip which contains three passive valves. Importantly, the liquid flow rate through regulatory chip in the pump. This feature has been used for providing steady fluid infusions for passive sample mixing in a T-junction microfluidic mixer or high efficiency particle separation in an inertial microfluidic chip. We envision that the self-sufficient and portable plug-and-play syringe pump will facilitate the miniaturization of microfluidic systems which will shed light on the large-scale application of microfluidic technologies.

Design and Sizing of Mobile Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant to Support Rapid Charging for Electric Vehicles
摘要: Existing DC fast-charging stations are experiencing power quality issues such as high harmonics in the line current, poor power factor in the input supply, and overloading of distribution transformers, due to the dynamic behavior of charging patterns when it is connected to the power grid. Most of the recent works involve the usage of renewable energy sources to mitigate the issues on the distribution grid. In order to design a mobile plug and play DC fast charging station, solar energy is the best and viable solution to carry out. In this paper, plug and play solar photovoltaic power plant to charge electric vehicles (EVs) is proposed and modelled using MATLAB/Simulink software. The proposed system can act as a mobile power plant. The controller allows the system to charge the battery, whenever there is abundant solar energy. Incoming EVs will be charged directly from the system battery where the charger acts as a rapid charging system. The proposed system can meet the concept of Solar Photovoltaic Rapid Charging Stations (SPRCS), which shows that 80% of charge can be fed to an EV in 10.25 min.
